Curious: Why can't US petitioner attend Embassy Interview?

Hello....

I'm curious: does anyone know why the Embassy in Bangkok does not allow petitioners to attend the interview with their fiances? It just seems odd to me. Embassies in some countries apparently do allow it? I wonder why the policy is not consistent world wide?

It seems to me that the petitioner being there would be seen as truly significant evidence of a true relationship and demonstrate support, love, commitment.

Does any know why? Or even have a speculation?

Security precautions, limiting he number of people who enter the embassy.

Also, Americans are generally demanding and they don't want to deal with that all day.

November 14th, 2013: She's here!

December 12th, 2013: Picked up marriage license.

December 14th, 2013: Wedding

It is about the Beneficiary to convince the CO the validity of the relationship, not the petitioner USC

I would have to agree with this. I believe they don't want any influence while the interview is taking place with the Beneficiary

When the CO asked my wife when she saw me last, she replied right outside when I was waiting in line. The CO seemed appreciative of the fact that I was there for the interview.

Hello and thank you for your comment. I think I've decided to be there when the interview occurs. I think it will help Noom feel supported...and we can prepare together and make sure he's organized. And he can say to the CO that I'm outside, just like your wife did. I think it can prove a point.

And my biggest concern is if Noom doesn't get approved, it is going to be devastating for both of us. And I can't imagine going through that disappointment 10,000 miles apart. I guess I better start looking for a ticket!
