We have our case # from the NVC and I have received the letter that the NVC will now forward the petition to Guatemala City. I looked it up on the internet and it said:

"Ready" Case creation date 29-Jul-2016 Status updated date: 04-Aug-2016 "Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the US Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://nvc.state.gov/interview.

BUT, my fiance has received nothing from the embassy at Guat. So I looked on their website, and it says they will send it via email? But nowhere on any application does it ask for his email address. And to make things just a bit more interesting, about 2 days ago the post office in Guat was closed (they do that every now & then for an undetermined amount of time).

He is totally confused and frustrated, as am I.

What do I do now? What is he supposed to do. We are just afraid we will do something wrong which will cause a big delay.

Any help/support/advice/words of wisdom or experience would be so much appreciated! We are sooo close and yet it seems like it just gets more complicated every day.

When you send in your petition the i129F did you not send along the G-1145? If you did than you provide a email address and they can email you there, you can also call NVC to make sure what email address they have on file for you.

In my case, at first I received IV interview letter from the NVC via email and later the embassy sent us another email informing about the interview date, time and medical test etc. I hope NVC has your email address (it is quicker than postal/courier service). You can call NVC to inquire about your case but make sure you have some information handy (Petitioner's name, DOB, Case number etc) before you call. I hope it helps.

In our case the email from the embassy was sent to the US citizen (my fiancé) as NVC only had his email and not mine. So he just forwarded it to me. Make sure to check the spam mail too, it might end up there.

How did this workout for you Everyone?

I received the same message when checking my status. "Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment"

If you are emailed...What address would the email come from?

I know they have my email address but not hers.
