I just saw the next episode preview where Jorge and Anfisa go ring shopping. So the sales clerk asks her what she is looking for. Her answer: "at least 3 carats". So they start looking at rings and the first one is $75k. Then the savvy clerk says "what if you went a little bigger, here's a 5 carat". I'm not sure why, but he asks how much, "300k retail but they will let him have it for only 150k". Once she heard the price, Anfisa immediately says she loves the ring. Then she says that if he buys her a ring like that, it means that he loves her. He then tells the clerks that their budget is 35-45k. #######? Who pays that for a ring? I make very good money and my wife's ring was only 3k. He needs to rob a bank since she wants a 45k dress, and a 150k ring. LOL

Then she says to the camera that they need to talk about money. She says that he made promises and now he's not coming through. I think he knew that she is a complete gold digger, and he knew that if he was honest with her, she would never agree to come, so he exaggerated how much money he has and how "comfortable" she would live with him. He keeps saying that he's waiting for her to mature, maybe he thought she would be ok once she came here. I think it's the case that kills many international couples in my opinion, mis-aligned expectations. She came here thinking she found her sugar daddy that would pay for shopping, huge house, and basically anything she could want, like modeling. But the reality is that he has no real money, and seems to be buying everything on credit (he doesn't want a ring that will take him 50 years to pay off). People with money don't "pay off" anything, they buy it.

The whole time I was irritated with her, but now I actually blame him for filling her head up with all kinds of nonsense. She is just being herself, and I think he knew that she would be like this but hoped that she would grow up. He's so desperate for her that he told her what she wanted to hear but now he is starting to realize that he can't afford his promises.

He needs to pack her up and send her back when she gets into one of her moods because she will never be happy with him, she is looking for a guy with real money. She even admitted in the last show or two that looks aren't important to her, as long as she can live how she thinks that she deserves. PLEASEEE!

Gods, my engagement ring cost $125 and my wedding and my wedding band cost the same, from tiffanys on 5th avenue. I would have killed my husband if he had spent more than $500.

I don't know how these couples get adjudicated for aos when there is so much evidence in the public domain against them. I understand that editing can make some situation look worse but with some there are so many incidents that no amount of editing would have gotten that many things happening without there being something to it.

There has to be actual proof that fraud is occurring. That can be really difficult to find.

My first wedding/engagement ring was around 300 (it had a fake stone) and the second one after the first one broke was $1100, also a diamond dupe, but a better one. Even that was pushing it for me because I just know that if I got an expensive ring, I would lose it or damage it. I know there is insurance on them, but how many losses can it cover?

Wasn't there some old wisdom that a ring should be one month's pay or something?

It certainly shouldn't cost more than your car and his car is not that nice. I think it used to be two month's salary, but that is honestly an insane amount for most people to spare from their budgets.

I think this guy likes to believe that he might soon make millions and is filling up credit cards accordingly.

I agree. I think he thinks he's building a legal weed empire and has probably promised Anfisa a lifestyle according to that dream and not his current income. I'm convinced he only rents that sports car on filming days, too.

I miss Terri.

I'm so glad the Cubs won last night, now i wont miss the show :)

I re watched last weeks episode because i didnt get to see it all.

Jorge looked like he was ready to throw up when he saw Anfisa come out for her photo session.

He is so not ok with this modeling thing, but is afraid she will go back to Russia, which probably would be a good thing for him.

The photographer was nice to Anfisa even though he felt she was to short to model, her legs are very stumpy looking and i didnt think that was a good look for her. She has no top lip, but the make up man/lady really did a nice job with her makeup i thought.

Spend as much money as you want on a ring. To each their own. My ring was about $400 (which I thought was quite steep) and my husband's was $150. I think my husband would have died of laughter if I insisted he spent a month's salary on a ring!!!! (Also, $35,000 is what I make in a year, not a month! I need that dude's job!)
