So I am sponsoring my fiance for the k1 visa. And I am just trying to make sure I have everything ready when it comes time to submit these forms. I'm going to get a letter from my employer and bank per the instructions, that shouldn't be a problem. But as far as the tax documents they need. I have my w-2. Do I need to attach my entire tax return that like I print out from h&r block.com its like 20 some pages I think(I filed online). Or should I just submit like the 2 page 1040? And should I send for the last 3 years or just the last year? I'm certain I need to file I-864, but do I also need to file I-134? And when it comes time (Received NOA1 ; 8/17/2016) to file the affidavits will that be with the DOS NVC or does my fiance the beneficiary take to his interview ? All help appreciated thank you. And I want to confirm for the dependents I have; myself, my son and my fiance so that should total 3 right? Because when filling the form out online it keeps just putting 1 in and wont let me change it to 3? So if that is correct and I should have 3 dependents then I just need to gross an annual income of more than $25,200.00, right? Thanks to all help!!

Just use your tax transcripts. Search the forums, tons of posts on this stuff. Its in the guide too. The transcripts are the easiest thing. Aside from privacy and stuff just submit more than needed.

London specific K1 information:

I-134 and proof of income taken to interview.

Nothing goes to NVC or London in the mail.

Tax return is not required.

They will approve on the employer letter alone, but you can take a tax return as a backup.

Skip the bank letter.

AOS information same for all countries:

I -864 and proof of income is mailed with application

The latest complete tax return (or transcript) is required. Two more are optional.

Optional but a good idea is employer letter and/or 6 months of pay stubs.

A complete tax return is

1) All forms and schedules that are part of the return. The main form is 1040 (or 1040A or EZ). But there can be other forms or Schedules like Schedule B, C, D. It all depends on the taxpayer. If self employed you have two schedules. If you're a farmer, there is a certain form. Everybody can have a different number of pages depending. H&R like TurboTax probably generates extra pages. If it says "Thank you for using ____" it's not tax return. "Worksheet" is not tax return. "Summary" is not. If the H&R logo is on it, not tax return.

2) A W2 or 1099MISC, 1099R, 1099SSA that shows income and withholdings. Whichever you got.

A tax return transcript replaces 1 and 2 above and solves the decision making process of what to send. It is a standalone document which covers the tax requirement. Free here https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

The form you are filling out.

1. Immigrant ............1

2. You...................... 1

4. dependent child....1

8. Household size.....3

Your terminology is wrong. Only the kid is called "dependent".

Was the income requirement I asked correct?

So if that is correct and I should have a house hold size of 3 then I just need a gross annual income of more than $25,200.00, right? Thanks to all help!!
