Well that was a nice surprise after hearing posts of Nebraska being so slow or other centers saying they aren't doing letters anymore (I read that in one post only though).

Is this unusual to get it before the Biometrics receipt? or does not everyone get a receipt for it?

At any rate Tom is happy because he has his letter and won't have to deal with getting his passport stamped for our trip to Scotland in June.

Glad to see NSC is still sending those out...

Out of curiosity, what was your NOA date? I sent my I-751 in shortly after you, so hopefully it comes soon...

BTW, it seems that TSC and VSC sends out Biometric "receipts". But you'll still get your Biometrics appointment letter shortly...

Apr 06, 2007: biometrics appointment

(Oct 09, 2007: called USCIS: service request sent to TSC)

Jan 31, 2008: case transferred to VSC (last touch date changed from 04/07/07 to 02/01/08)

Feb 01, 2008: touch

Feb 04, 2008: touch

(Feb 05, 2008: infopass appointment)

Feb 07, 2008: transfer notice dated Feb 01, 08

Feb 13, 2008: touch (Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.)

Feb 25, 2008: touch

Apr 11, 2008: approval email! (only took 1 year, 34 days!)

Apr 13, 2008: 2 more approval emails

Apr 16, 2008: email notice: "Approval notice sent"

Apr 18, 2008: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!! card received!

Congrats on the quick NOA from Nebraska!

Here's our timeline for Nebraska for anyone following the schedule:

I-751 received in Lincoln: February 23, 2007

Notice date: February 23, 2007

NOA Mailed: March 21, 2007 (Gee! The mailman must not have come in for a month!)

NOA received: March 23, 2007

Good thing too because we had an INFOPASS appointment Tuesday for travel purposes.

Removal of Conditions - Nebraska Service Center

2/23/07 I-751 Notice date

3/23/07 NOA received (typo in name)

3/29/07 Biometric appointment received. Requested rescheduling

4/05/07 Second biometrics appointment received

4/18/07 Biometrics

4/19/07 Case status updated

2/23/08 Petition Congressman - no additional info.

3/03/08 Infopass in Chicago (12-mo extension)

3/19/08 Petition Senator's office

4/01/08 Case transferred - to an unspecified "USCIS office" (e-mail)

4/12/08 Letter - transferred to CSC on 3/27/2008. (typo in name)

4/22/08 Current Status: Card production ordered

4/25/08 Current Status: Approval notice sent; letter from Senator's office - expect 30-60 day wait for USCIS response!

4/26/08 Card arrives (with typo in name)

4/28/08 Card sent back via registered post (mistake to use Reg Post!)

5/05/08 Package delivered at Laguna Niguel, CA

10/02/08 Corrected 10-yr card issued

I-485

03/10/05 AOS interview in Chicago. Conditional PR (2-yr).

03/17/05 CPR card arrives in the mail

AOS thru Chicago DO (from non-immigrant visa category)

7/08/04 Mailed I-130, I-485 & I-765

7/20/04 Fingerprints/biometrics completed.

8/17/04 EAD approved
