But you had to get that extra thing from the civil surgeon, right? The civil surgeon's office we went to tried to convince us Rey needed the whole 9 yards of medical, vaccination, etc. We had to be pretty clear that he didn't need it (insisting quite strongly) or they would have charged us about $400. Finally they got the CS out to confirm that he only needed the signed supplement for $30. Not only was the trip to the CS inconvenient but if we hadn't known the rules better (thanks, VJ) we would have been persuaded to spend hundreds of unnecessary dollars. I'm sure it's happened to others.

Nope...

I know many people are asked for it. We were not. We took a 'calculated risk' in going to the interview without the documents because we felt what was in her file was sufficient. Turns out in the opinion of our AO, we were right.

Hmm that is interesting, I will be saying my part.

I think the system with the medical for immigrant intent visas are lacking in something big right now.
