My husband and I are anxious to receive his work authorization and ap card. He had his biometric appointment on July 19, 2016. We keep checking our status online and it still says our case was received. Waiting is torture, as you all know, so does anyone know if or when the status will change? Did anyone receive anything or hear anything in the mail upon completing their biometrics? Any info would make us feel better.... Thanks!

You don't receive anything for going to biometrics appointment. The next updates can be rfe, card being produced. It takes time. I filed in the middle of May and still waiting

We filed early May and just received EAD (work authorization card) today. Green card will follow. My wife's EAD is good for one year (that's because the green card will take the place of the EAD). The USCIS website will not tell you much - they say it's because of security. You can call them and they will tell you more than what is posted on the website.

is there a fee for the EAD and AP in addition to the $985 for the Adjustment of Status fee? Also, can my fiancée travel to visit her family with the AP ,or can this only be used for emergency/death in the family? Do we have to file the AOS before her 90 days are up or maybe it doesn't matter if the filing is past the 90 days?

please start your own thread.

The aos fee is $1,070 (form fee plus biometrics fee). The ead an AP fees will be waived if filing with or after the aos. AP can be used for visiting and not only emergencies. The aos can be filed at anytime, but it's for the best interest of the immigrant for it to be the soonest as possible

thanks for the info p-ana, so the fees for EAD and AP are waived if filed with the AOS. And my fiancee can visit her family as soon as she gets the AP.
