AOS from E1 to Green Card due to Marriage

Dear All,

Usually I am pretty resourceful but I am having the hardest time filling out my timeline.

It all starts with the choice of Visa.

From what I understood I am in the IR-1/CR-1 category (can someone confirm?).

But when I chose that category, my AOS, EAD, and AP sections are "hidden" and I cannot fill them out.

That does not really make sense to me.

Can someone explain the logic behind that?

Also, does anyone here has any experience with AOS from an E1 Visa? Seems to be rather rare...

Choice of visa will be other then AOS. You are not a IR1 visa.

E visa is pretty rare but AOS from it works like other concurrent AOS cases. Good luck.

Thanks a lot for your quick reply. I changed it to "other". I just thought that there would be another specific category for AOS than "other" :-).

I was under the impression that this is a rather common way of gaining the green card :-).

It is very common but this site is set up for visa stuff mainly. Lots of people waiting to be together, counting the days. Concurrent AOS people already have visas and are together in the US, but the immigration stuff can be very confusing as well, obviously.

I think a better gauge for how long it will take is through checking out a monthly filers thread in the subforum (and the previous months). Good luck.
