Hi guys, am new to this forum and I have so many curiosities!!!

My medical is scheduled for September 27 & 28th this year and my interview for 2nd November. Very nervous I might add. My first question I guess is will it affect our process of my hubby doesn't have a job????

Well, it depends slightly- finances are vital, but if he has no job, there are two other ways:

1. He sponsors you on assets

2. He finds a US based co-sponsor.

Ok thanks guys. He does have some money to his name, it's not like he's broke really considering he got some inheritance money after his dad passed away a few years ago (1 and 1/2) And he recently took up a part time job at his uncle's farm and makes around 20$ an hour. Also his mom is co-sponsor and she's a nurse almost retiring. I hope that will help us?? I just wonder why some people are told to wait for investigations while others are granted immediately!! I just desperately don't want investigation in November...gotta be with my baby for Christmas!!!???

So I finished my medical in Nairobi on the 27th and 28th September??? it was quick and painless at first but now my right shoulder hurts for the past 3 days ?. There were plenty of places to stay at close by the IOM and I chose the Gigiri Express Hotel, it was comfy and right by the road, 10 minute walk to the IOM and had Java house close by for meals, dominos for pizza and a funky place called mcfrys for chicken. A few others too that I never visited really seeing as I was there for only two days. The process was fast, first day was in at 7am and out by 12 noon. Arcing day was in at 8am and out by 9am! Quite fast really. Now waiting for 2nd November for the interview. Evan and I are a bit anxious, mostly I ?, because am thinking about Christmas ?. Well, good luck everyone out there!

Hey guys. Had my interview on Wednesday and it went well. Visa was approved and now waiting for the passport pick up at DHL.

The cue was very long at the embassy I would advise you get up very early and be at the gate by 5am if you don't want to wait all day for your interview. I got to the gate at 5:15am and waited till 6am when the gate wa opened, by that time we were already around 30 people lining up guys alone and ladies alone.

To minimize my securit check I never carried my handbag or any electronics, not even the X-ray CD. So I literally walked through security.

The first table outside the building we handed our DS160 and were checked in then the DS160 was given back.

When inside i handed the lady my DS160 again and appointment confirmation, sh retained these, handed me a slip written on C403 meaning I was numbe 3 for that category of visa interview. I wa then asked to sit outside and wait for my number to be called. The wait was an hour and a half, and it was very cold so I had dressed super warm thanks to reviews on visa journey.

After the wait I went inside and handed over the following documents;

passport,

original birth certificate and a copy,

Police certificate of good conduct

MRV receipt

One passport photo

Affidavit of support from my fiancé

His tax transcript

Affidavit of support from co-sponsor who is his mom

Her pay slips for the past 3 months and employment letter.

That was the first window, then I wa asked to wait outside again.

I waited for another hour and a half and then was called back in for finger prints which took less than five minutes then some more waiting outside for an hour and was finally called in for the interview.

At the interview window, the lady asked me to raise my hand and swear; I promise that all information submitted during the visa application process and information I will give during the interview is true to the best of my knowledge.

She then proceeded to ask me the following questions;

Q: Who is filing this petition for you?

A: my fiancé (name)

Q: how did you meet your fiancé?

A: our meeting story

Q: what does he do for work?

A: he is not permanently employed

Q: where does he stay?

A: he spends time at his moms place and uncles

Q: how often do you communicate?

A: every day, multiple times a day

Q: when was the last time you saw him?

A: we took a vacation together this summer

Q: where did you go?

A: vacation destination

Then the lady said my visa has been approved and I should wait for a week to hear from DHL regarding when to pick up my passport!

If you are calm, collected and sure of what you are saying and have all your documentation ready in order, everything will go smoothly!! Also to note; my fiancé does not have a job so his mom is co sponsoring me, this is not obvious to the lady taking documents at the first window so when she asked for the affidavit of support papers I handed her Evan's papers and then informed her that I had a co sponsor and wanted to give her my co sponsor documents.

Now am waiting for the DHL email to alert me when to pick up my passport.

Good luck!!
