CNN Selectively Edits Police Shooting Victim’s Sister’s Words to Protesters

In a classic case of media bias by omission, CNN took extra care Monday to leave out a crucial part of their reports on the Milwaukee police shooting. After a black police officer fatally shot Sylville Smith Sunday, after he refused to put down his gun, riots and violence ensued in the city. Smith’s family was eager to talk to the media and his sister Sherelle had a message that should have been covered and condemned by the media. Instead, CNN decided to air her words but curtail them before they became controversial.

In this video posted by user DeeconX on Twitter, Sherelle Smith can be seen here, in front of several reporters, calling for violence to end...in the city. What she says next is shocking.

I despise any kind of rioting no matter the circumstances and anyone that calls for it should be charged with inciting violence and prosecuted.

This message (below) is wrong and should have been included in the CNN story.

BLM movement really working on starting a race war ... She said we need our weave ... next time we riot burn out white folks homes . . If you study history the Klan did this all the time .to black folks ..Even if they did not burn black folks out .... Just the threat alone was damaging

They met defiance with beatings, whippings and sometimes murder. They burned blacks’ houses down and drove black farmers off their land

The BLM movement is suggesting the same tactics .. Take the burning to the white neighborhoods ....." We got us a white guy " " Beat his ...."" Just look at the tapes of the last few nights .. If you had cell phones 100 years ago you would see the KKK saying the same thing as what has happened in Milwaukee ... Same words .....
