I-134 Supporting Evidance from Employer

So I've had some trouble getting my employer to write a letter of employment verification. They told me it has to be a physical paper form that I bring for them to fill out from the requesting entity, the only thing I've found close to their criteria is the I-9 form but I'm just not sure it applies to this situation. Has Anyone else had this difficulty? Would it be adequate for me to just submit copies of past W-2 and pay stubs with my affidavit of support?

Thanks!

I didn't hand an employment letter on my interview, just recent pay checks (last 6 months). They (rio consulate) didn't ask for it and we were fine. I even asked "are they pay checks enough for proof of employment?" And they said it was ok.

I've heard of this happening with some military couple a while back.

Depending on the company, some businesses don't want their name on anything that they don't feel comfortable with. Have you explained to them that all they need to do is write a letter on business letter head, stating time of employment, current annual income, and that you will continue to be working there? Explain what it's for if you have too. That it's more of a personal matter for you than a business matter and having this done won't affect them in any way as you will also be sending tax return, W2, and paystubs.

Either way, you should be fine without an employer letter with tax return, W2, and paystubs. Make sure tax return is with the W2's. You either need to have tax transcript OR Tax return AND W2's that support the Tax return. If you want to be super covered, I'd talk to someone who may be sympathetic to your cause, and explain the simplicity of the letter.
