When we file our AOS, EAD and AP, since my husband already has a social security number and driver's license, is there a chance he would get his EAD faster than the average 90 days?

If not, would that in combination with a offer letter from a potential employer expedite the process?

From what I've seen the thing that expedites an EAD process is proof of financial hardship and the family need for his income.

I don't think a SS card or employment offer helps with an expedite as many could produce that. I would however, submit that with your financial need info.

People have successfully expedited their EAD because they had a job offer. I don't have any links handy to offer you. One user I knew was AnnaGrant.

VJ links about job offer expedite.

No, a SSN and DL has absolutely no influence on when you receive the EAD/AP, an expedite request for financial hardship with supporting
evidence and a job offer would definitely be worth a try.
I requested an expedite on the renewal of the EAD and received an AOS interview letter a week later (AOS 15 months pending).
Others have successfully expedited their EAD.

USCIS does recognize a pending job offer as a financial loss. So if you have one, you should call USCIS call center and place a request to expedite.

You will need a case # of your I-765 (NOA1).

They will ask you a reason - pick # 1 "Severe financial loss to company or person". They will give you a # of your request (Referral ID). Write it down.

Within 5 days (or so) you should receive an email or regular mail:

"Type of service requested:

-- Expedite

The status of this service request is:

Upon receipt of your request for expeditious handling, your case was reviewed and a determination was made that we need additional information to make a decision regarding your request. Please fax proof of your financial loss, such as proof of a pending job offer, to the following number: 123-456-7890, Attn: XXXXXXXXXX. Please include this notice with your fax. Documents should be submitted with an official letterhead"

You should be ready to fax what they ask for as soon as possible. Better - the same day.

I faxed my pending job offer along with a Cover Letter, where I explained why it could be my financial loss.

It took 2 weeks to receive my EAD after placing the request to expedite.

Good luck!

Thank you for explaining the process. He does have an offer from a job, we just weren't sure if that alone would be enough. Do we need to have the company explain any specifics in another letter or will the formal offer letter that that originally sent be enough?

You're very welcome :)

No, you don't need anything "extra" from the Company.. The formal job offer is enough. Just make sure the document (a job offer) is with an official letterhead.
