I just want to vent a little. I know that most VJ veterans here say to not worry about potential RFEs until we actually receive them, but the more I keep reading on this site while waiting for my NOA2 (for K1 visa), the more worried I'm becoming.

There's the fact that I filed for a K1 visa about 2 weeks after my divorce was final, which seems to be a red flag sometimes at the USCIS, BUT it also seems to only be a red flag if the ex-spouse was not a USC. In my case, my ex was a USC, so that changes things a bit, doesn't it? And we've been separated since September 2015, so the relationship was over long before the filing, which the divorce decree reflects that. (while all other evidence in the packet reflects that I met my "foreign fiance" 3 months prior to said separation... and I'll say to that... I never expected that to happen, but life is crazy sometimes.)

Then I saw the post from the other day where someone received an RFE for not having enough evidence that the beneficiary intends to marry the petitioner even though they sent in their letter of intent. They didn't have proof of wedding plans because like a lot of people in this same situation, and like us, it's difficult to make plans when you don't know when our fiances will arrive. We intend to marry at the courthouse soon after he arrives. And did I think to include those kinds of things in the conversation samples I sent? No of course not because that would be too easy. *sarcasm* -_- I'm kicking myself now. I sent in so much evidence, front-loaded the petition with photos, 30 sheets (printed front and back) of emails, 30 sheets (printed front and back) of hangouts conversations, copies of shipping labels proving he sent the bulk of his belongings to me when he was moving back to England, past and future itineraries, past boarding passes, receipts, my passport scanned fully and BC, his passport scanned fully and his BC (neither of which is even required for this step)... I mean I really went crazy with making sure we had everything possible for them to review our application.

And yet I continue to feel as if I missed something, sometimes obvious, sometimes surprises after reading the forums on this site. I just wanted to vent a little, and I thank you for letting me do so. I am sure that even if we do get an RFE, I'll be prepared ahead of time (unless it's for something for which I wasn't prepared), and it'll hold us up for only a week, maybe two. Things will be fine, and we'll move along with everyone else and before we know it, we'll be together and the stress from all of this will be a thing of the past.

Then it'll be AOS, but at least we'll be together, which for us, is 75% of the battle.

Thank you to everyone here. This site is a wealth of knowledge. I would say sometimes too much knowledge, but that's just me wanting to wear blinders and be ignorant and not worry. When in reality, for me at least, it's best to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best.

OK, my rambling is over now.

RFE for not having wedding plans? That seems really odd. So many K-1 couples never end up making wedding plans at all, and just get married at the courthouse after their significant others enter the country.

I know you will probably still worry, but as long as you provided the proof that you were legally able to marry (divorce certificate) and proof that you and your fiance have meet in person within the last two years I don't see anything you could receive and RFE for. Especially since you say you front loaded.

Questions about the divorce may or may not come up later when your fiance has their interview. London is probably one of the easiest embassies to go through, and most K-1 interviews end up being 5 questions or less.

I am sure you will be fine.

Yes, knowing how overactive my mind can be at times, I probably will still find some things to worry about as this wait continues, but your response has made me feel better. And you're right. I have heard so many say the US Embassy in London is one of the easiest, and that definitely gives me some comfort. Just having a harder time than normal the longer our application disappears into the seeming black hole.

So thank you for your encouragement! ^_^

When you review other posts and threads keep in mind that every case is different and you're only getting one side of the story in that posters words. So information can be off a bit. I tend to take everything with a grain of salt as they say.

Don't stress yourself out with other's situations. While it's valuable to read about different situations that arise and how that VJer was able to remedy it, it doesn't mean its going to happen to you. I didn't submit one piece of evidence of wedding plans. I submitted very limited relationship proof in the I-129f packet. Proof we met on 2 different occasions and 5-6 pics. That was it. Your from UK, a fairly easy consulate by immigration standards.

Try your best to relax. Worrying doesn't accomplish anything except stressing you out. IF an RFE should come your way, you can deal with it then. Save yourself the frustration for now.

Good Luck!
