What About the "implied" lack of value to Off Topic?

But your our liberal propagandist. ;)

Thanks, Rich...and you're testimony that all that liberal propaganda hasn't brainwashed you yet. :P

I think of all my friends and co-workers I've 'debated' over the years. The many many hours of time to kill in the Navy on watch was like a real life off-topic. We would talk about anything to pass time. Religion, politics and sex (or lack of). We tried to make people cry and go too far but no one ever got into a fight over it. They were just words.

One thing I noticed was that no one ever change who they were. I never saw any party affiliations switched. But over the years I became more socially liberal and became a Libertarian. This was through personal observation not talking to a Libertarian.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Off Topic is a good change of pace . . . it can make you laugh, it can inform you, it can make you mad, and it can make you crazy!! And it definitely can cover of wide range of topics . . . so it is many times more interesting that the specific forums.

Really, how many times can you respond to "how long does it take to get my NOA2?", or "why doesn't (blank) get their act together and issue the dayum visa??" (fill in the blank for the consulate/embassy of you choice). or, read posts from ppl are are depressed and ranting about how long their wait is . . . for the umpteenth time (some are more vocal than others). Sometimes their posts depress me and I get tired of the ranting.

so for me, Off Topic is entertainment! and getting to know more ppl . . . not that i think anyone cares to get to know me, hehe!!

But what the heck!

AND besides, I can post lots of times here on my quest for the next heart and make the posts something more than "Congratulations" or :P or  or :crying: or :dancing: or  !!

The gamut of emotions that OFF TOPIC brings out! It's a great place to hang out and "step away" from immigration concerns and yet still be in touch with those who have shared/share in the immigration journey.

I have enjoyed OT greatly.....

Kind of have the same feelings for it as I do for my eldest child, love him to bits while fighting the urge to smack him up side the head on occassions :P

That's awesome and I can see it in your posts! :P

I think the point of arguing isn't to get the other person to think like you but for them to understand and respect your thinking.

I enjoy off topic. It gives me a chance to laugh at other peoples stupidity with some of the hilarious news stories. Also, it's nice to interact with other people who have to go through this whole process. It makes me feel like we're not the only ones going through all this craziness. I love it :)

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.
