I think things are going to get much much worse in the US in terms of crime. I suspect that we look back a decade from now and see the early 2000s as relatively crime free.

Police are going to step back more and more and get less involved to avoid issues which is going to cause a major crime wave. You can already see it starting in a few states.

I see it already in San Francisco.
