Philippines Police Clearance

Hello, all!!

Received NOA2 on August 9.

I've been doing a little research today regarding what the next steps will be. I think I have an ok understanding of what to expect.

My question is, at what point do we need to begin work on the Police Clearances? She worked in Dubai, Qatar, and Hong Kong while OFW. Not really sure where to begin.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks a million,

Toby

Start with the State Department - Look here by country for all Police Records Requirements for USA Visa application. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country.html

If one is not required then print off the page to have with you at the interview. Some CO's seem to draw a blank and refuse your application till you produce a PC from that country. So showing them the requirements from the State Department should turn the tide back in your direction.

I see your processing through the Philippines. I have a website that will walk you through step by step on the Philippines process. It's free to use. I list the steps, documents and other pertinent information so that you avoid the "gotchas" that are presented while processing. Gotchas can cost you time and or money. I help you avoid those.

Just my naive opinion, but you might start working on the AOS, Affidavit of Support, I- something..., and the documentation and evidence you are going to need to provide with it. Police clearances are a part of this process, my gal was an OFW HK. FWIW, you might google getting a police clearance certificate for Dubai and Qatar. Best of luck. If i can be of any help PM me.

I left off an answer to one of your questions and the answer is that you should start getting your Police Clearances now. PC's usually can take 6-8 weeks to get. Again, follow the Official Instructions from the link I gave you.

All other needed documents for the interview can be started now.

Documents needed are found in the Embassy Letter here: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/1178798/Instructions%20Packets/iv-interview-preparation-instructions-english-feb-2016.pdf

And one last thing, my website is for those who are chasing a K-1 visa and I just noticed you are chasing a IR1/CR1 so the website won't be much help.

Here are two other sources that can help you though: https://immimom.wordpress.com/ and http://jerryjja.wixsite.com/filipinasaswa/visa

  • 5 weeks later...

Yea... get them now. Takes a while and you are going to encounter an issue trying to get a money order or check made out in Hong Kong dollars in the Philippines. I had to western union money to a friend in Hong Kong to take care of it after 2 weeks of hitting brick walls in the Philippines.
