I would like to know if anyone can help me with my fiancee's case. She came to the US legally on a K-2 visa together with her mom and 3 sister five years ago on March 2002. Her mother got married to a US citizen and had no problems adjusting her status. However, 5 years have passed and my fiancees is now 24 and has no idea what ever happened with her case. She doesn't even know the status to her case because her lawyer supposedly was taking care of everything. All she knows is that her visa expired, zhe has never adjusted her status and it seems like she has overstayed. Apparently, her lawyer that handled their case forgot to submit the paperwork for all 3 daughters once they entered the US. What really sucks is that the lawyer is hard to get in contact with and has not been cooperative. The lawyer even told one of the daughters that it was ok to get married, but she was wrong. Because of bad advice, my fiancee's sister had to do voluntarily deport herself, and my fiancees's legal status is uncertain. Is there anything that can be done so that my fiancee can adjust her status? or is it too late? I just want to resolve this issue because it has stressed out everyone involved. Is there anything that I do not know of that can help my fiancee.

we have seen 3 and they don't even know what she can do

Hi, Girona40's husband here (sorry posting under her name) She is still back in the UK looking after her father.

Did she ever file an I-485? Did she ever attend an interview with the USCIS?

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

Apparently the lawyer did a disappearing act on you. Apparently he didn't file for their AOS.

Can you try contacting USCIS and inquiry if there ever was a process under her name? Can you contact a congressman to contact USCIS about yoru fiancee?

A good immigration lawyer should have some answers for you, really.
