Since there have been a few questions of it lately, can anyone please share their interview experiences for going from a visitor to the US (VWP, Canadian, etc.) and then using AOS to adjust status based on marriage? I've had two or three private messages about this, and I'm frankly curious myself. :)

Kezzie and clmarsh are two people I know that did this. Anyone else?

I came to the states as a visitor also. My interview was very easy, the immigration officer simply asked me: "You got here in the states as a visitor, right?" and no other questions about it. :)

There are more of us than people think.... Just that some people keep quite about it as they are sometimes made to feel the have done something wrong or have cheated in some way....

The realality is that at most interviews it is never even questioned...

I got a question for you cheaters( lol  ) that adjusted from visitor. Do y'all had problems travelling with AP?Consider that I never been out of status since i got my first NOA before my tourist I-94expired

If you've ever been out of status, you shouldn't travel, regardless of whether your I-131 is approved. That said, in your case, you should be fine, but i would make an infopass appointment and ask an actual immigration officer prior to travelling. last thing you want is for immigratiosn and customs to turn you away when trying to get back into the country!

Me too - got our interview on the 29th! :o A bit scared because we don't have much "evidence" as such, like joint bank accounts, tax returns. A few people in the vicinity are trying to make sure we don't have much evidence, and making it very difficult to even get to the interview, so it's all a rather stressful time at the moment...

I'll report back when it's all done.

Feb 2009 - Called USCIS to see what the heck was goin' on...

FEB 20th 2009 - Received email - GC on the way!

I am APPROVED for the 10 year PR Card!

Exact same situation - only our interview isn't on April 11...it's at the end of the week I'll let people know how ours went. I'm nervous - I hate any kind of interview (like job interviews) so I've tried to be calm about this whole interview thing even though I'm scared sh!tless...

Skoopie, thanks for posting regarding your experience - it was wonderful of you to do that :) And Jayjay, you're in my thoughts...saw your thread about the MIL. Good luck with everything...

yay! saga over! card in hand! new life beginning... good things DO come to those who wait :)

Oooh, sweet. I will look forward to your post. I was nervous, but I'm not now. I will be on the day...probably. I don't like job interviews, either!!! Good luck to you. I know you'll be happy once the interview is done and you've got your approval!
