Packet 4 Confusion appointment confusion

Hello all!

Two of days ago I scheduled for our interview appointment on Aug 30th, Before receiving P4. Today, I received our P4 and the consulate gave us an appointment date of Aug 31st???

I was in the impression that we go through CGI Stanley to schedule our appointments? I don't think I ever recall seeing the consulate scheduling the appointment for us for China consulate?

My main concerns are:

1) Do I cancel my Aug 30th appointment on CGI now? and go with the P4 appointment date on the 31st?

2) If I do cancel the appointment, can I manage to go back all the way and select "Immigrant Visa-Scheduled by NVC-Registration Only"? Because I selected "Immigration Visa" and then "K1"

3) I already paid for the fee, I am wondering if I go all the way back to select "Immigrant Visa-Scheduled by NVC-Registration Only" does that mean I have to pay again?

A side note:

When I scheduled the appointment of Aug 30th through CGI, it shows my fiancee's old DS-160, the one she used for her B2, instead of the new one she filled out. Wondering if that will effect the interview?

What do I do?

We received packet 4 yesterday and an appointment of August 31st. I too was under the impression that the beneficiary scheduled the appointment. We have to reschedule ours to the middle of September, hopefully before the holiday. I look forward to seeing your questions answered.

Anyone have an insight to this? I don't want to cancel the appointment on CGI Stanley yet.

I emailed the consulate about this, guess we'll see..

We had the same situation and were able to call the Consulate and get it straightened out. They allowed us to choose the appointment date we wanted between the two, and they cancelled the other one.

My fiancee was turned away on the phone and told to use the email system.

We tried attacking the problem on two different fronts (I am pretty proactive). My Fiance called the consulate and I emailed CGI Stanley and the Consulate. CGI Stanley responded right away in one day and requested some more information. The consulate didn't respond. After I sent additional info, my Fiance managed to get through on the phone and got things straightened out. I then sent another email to CGI Stanley telling them we had fixed the appointment. They responded that they would close the request to correct it.

If you can't get through on the phone, CGI Stanley seems to be much faster at responding than the Consulate. I would try them.

She definitely got through just turned away! She seems to get responses from the consulate as she has emailed multiple times and received responses within a day.

Then there is the problem of a foreigner living in China and police certificates...

I'll see if I can shoot some emails around and see what happens.
