Received NOA1s for both I-130 & I-129F, what can I do now?

Just wondering if there is anything I should be doing right now while I'm waiting to receive NOA2's that might help further in the whole process...

I already collected tax transcripts for the last three years and will have this years return as well when I file it. I have some phone records, pictures, etc. But what else can I do right now?

You might want to think about preparing Form I-134. Get it notarized at your local USCIS office. You can schedule an INFOPASS appointment at USCIS website. This will make it go a lot smoother.

Hi consolemaster,

How old can the I-134 be at the time of interview? From what I know so far they require a recent employment letter (within 2 months) of the interview and the latest 3 paystubs. Does that mean that an I-134 that has been notorized 5-6 months prior to interview is not valid?

Hmm, this is something my spouse will have to get done at her local police office in Mumbai. How old can the police certificates be at the time of interview?

True. Hmmm...I didn't realize that, so you just have to wait a little. But, police certificates are valid for one year. However, some embassy will only accept it if it's within 6 months old.

I WOULD BE CAREFUL ON COMPLETING THE FORMS TOO EARLY SINCE THEY ALWAYS KEEP UPDATING THE FORMS AND THAT MEANS THE FORMS THAT YOU FILLED OUT MAY NO LONGER BE VALID. EVEN IF YOU WAIT UNTIL THE EMBASSY SENDS YOU THE PACKET TO COMPLETE; I WOULD CHECK BEFORE YOUR INTERVIEW IF THE FORMS WERE STILL VALID...MY HUSBAND COMPLETED THE FORMS FROM HIS PACKET FROM EMBASSY AND WHEN HE WENT TO INTERVIEW THEY MADE HIM REDO THE FORMS AT THE INTERVIEW. GOOD LUCK!

I looked up Mumbai Consulate's website. It looks like they need the latest when it comes to financial support, however they accept police certificates that are up to a year old at the time of the interview. So we'll get this done.

Asked my wife to start collecting all the info she can on her vaccinations - but that seems to be a problem. Unlike us here in the US that maintain a vaccination card from the day we're born, they don't necessarily keep a record card in India. She knows she's received all the vaccinations over the years, and most from her family doctor; her polio shot was at a Rotary polio vaccination camp.

What's the solution to this? Is a statement from her family doctor acceptable? Can a clinic determine through a blood test what she's been immunized for in the past and issue a statement?
