My husband was given a 1 year hold due to drugs. He was given a blue paper with a date to return. I haven't received any instructions on what to do or take. Do i just schedule the med exam & show up to the consulate on the date printed or do i have to refile?

:time: It would be helpful if you could complete a timeline and correct your profile information. You filed for AOS and he was given a blue paper for a one year hold? A hold from what if he is here in the USA? What consulate?

Obviously he's in CA so schedule the

appts close to one year, some rehab is

a good idea.

The fact that the OP said "consulate" doesn't make sense if he's in CA.

If he got a "one year hold" from filing for AOS, that would be the first post I've ever seen on that. A year hold from what? getting a greencard? So he should just live here illegally for a year and the government would be ok with that? doubtful but hey I learn new things everyday in this immigration forum.

My fiance was given a one year ban for controlled substance. He never did a day in rehab. He did do a couple random drug tests on his own at a private clinic. Consulate did not require this.
