No doubt the snub was for the benefit of her supporters. Who have made gun control a center piece of their platform, regardless of the fact that sharp-shooting is an Olympic event and of course should be beyond political spin.

Moreover as a presidential nominee it’s only fitting that Hillary should have congratulated 19-year Ginny (Virginia) Thrasher for bringing home the gold, and for her outstanding skill, at beating out Chinese competitors Yi Siling in the Women’s 10-meter air rifle competition.

An American shooting a gun is not news, it happens daily all over the country and tens of thousands of people die each year because of it.

Not really the point of this story tho is it..

If true it does display double standards as I'm sure the women's gymnastics team or swimming competitors will be met with much anticipation. Not quite sure how much truth is in this story mind as I doubt anyone would single out a gold winning performance for particular non congratulatory means.

The whole team should be commended on participating as yes medals are important but we should be reminded that just achieving a place on an Olympic team is beyond many of us mere mortals and the sacrifices made just to get to Rio are not what all of us could do....... But I digress....

I'm sure he hates the Olympics garnering so much coverage.

Trump is known for congratulating only one person - himself. He's the sole achiever in this country. Scratch that. He's the sole achiever in the world.

It's very obvious that Trump hates the US Olympic team, believe me.
