1] yes the NOA1 and 2, and RFEs

2] no. You need the physical RFE.

I don't see anywhere on the i-130 where I should specify a mailing address. What should I do?

I can't just have them sent to a relative in the US, and they can scan and send it to me? I need the actual physical paper they send?

It doesnt day you need to put a physical address on the I-130. However, the G-325a has a spot for both and yes you can get a relative scan it. Im unsure if you need the original rfe for the return. I didnt get an rfe and I dont recall atm what others have said.

The g-325a asks for "applicants residence last five years" and 'applicant's last address outside the US of more than 1 year"

I'm not seeing anything that specifies a mailing address. If there is going to be a lot of back and forth, wouldn't they specify somewhere and say "look, international people, you need to provide a mailing address where you can receive documents, that's important." Hopefully such a thing exists and I just haven't found it. I don't want to get a PO box for no reason, and even if I had one there is no place where I am instructed to put the address.

There shouldnt be much back and forth. If you get an RFE it's generally your fault. The NOA1 can be sent via email or you can call for the case number. Neither the physical NOA1 or NOA2 are required for anything during the process. Even if you moved you cant update an overseas address. The point of the green card is family reunification within the USA so they dont make the forms in regards to people living abroad. If you cant get mail, get it sent to a trusted family member in the USA. If you're having a lot of issues with the forms, maybe a visa service or lawyer would be helpful for you.

We n er received the NOA1 in the nail, despite USCIS claiming to have sent it twice. But it's nit needed. Just would have been nice to add to the scrap book.

I think I have seen many overseas filers send the completed package minus the fee to a relative in the USA who then writes a check or purchases a money order to add to the package and send to the Chicago lock box.

G-325A requires physical addresses. They won't send anything there. It's for background check purpose. You must have some way of being able to pinpoint the location of your house/apartment. What would you tell a taxi driver if you wanted him to take you home?

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

If I go on google maps and click 'what's here' it will give me an address. number, street, everything. but that's not used for mail, or really anything. and for a taxi it's really by main streets and landmarks. even ambulances, I've had to drive to a known nearby landmark and meet an ambulance and have it follow me the rest of the way. it's crazy dumb but that's how it is.

thanks for the info. I figure on the cover letter I'll indicate a relatives US address for mailing.

Instead of making a new thread, quick question. I've got the i-130 all together and ready to go. Should I put it in an envelope, and then put that envelope in the FEDEX (or whoever) mailing envelope? The alternative would just be to put the documents (they are secured via ACCO fastener) directly into the mailing envelope.
