not only did i keep all documents i sent

if one had to be sent again, i kept another copy to show what was sent in with that bar code page

i took copies of checks i sent out and recipt from the post office of payment and copy of signed receipt that package was received

i still have all things in case i need any of these for any future immigration processes

Several here have given you a warning that this doesn't sound quite right / i would ask him for copies of what he sent for your own records

don't be afraid to ask some hard questions of "your partner to be"

like why he didn't send personal check for his own records and to be on a bank statement

in matters of this importance, trust your head not your heart

Express Mailed Everything for tracking purposes. Scanned everything including the Cashier's Check from my bank, 4 full sets of documents. One for filing, one for me, one for my fiancee and a backup copy in case something or everything got lost. Knowing how bad the government is for losing documents, I took no chances.

This! My first thought was that may be he didn't do anything and just making up stories to OP? I know some people take this process irresponsibly by not making any copies, not keeping receipts, but.... I don't think he sent envelope by regular first class USPS mail so there should be tracking number of each envelope. He never checked tracking, even second time? If he sent envelopes to the right USCIS address there is no way they could just disappear. Ok, may be first one, but not both for sure, it's just unreal. And money orders, ok, let's say he threw away receipt from first one and couldn't check it (not smart but happens), but he didn't even check second one if it was cashed? Is he so rich that he is sending hundreds of dollars over and over and don't care about them?

May be he is very careless but being OP I would have serious doubts he sent anything anywhere.

Thank you everyone for your responses, he is going to check the second money order today to see if it was cashed and if not he is going to cancel it and we are going to send the envelope again, I think we did some things wrong the first two times, we didn't have a table a contents and we didn't put the photos in plastic bag, I just saw that we needed to do it by reading other topics on this website...I really appreciate all the information you guys gave me

He sent it via USPS and he didn't send checks he sent money orders so we could see if they were cashed

Here is the reality of checking acounts. Practically all (if not all) U.S. banks for years now offer electronic banking. I can check over the internet when each check I have written has been cashed.

I think we did some things wrong the first two times, we didn't have a table a contents and we didn't put the photos in plastic bag, I just saw that we needed to do it by reading other topics on this website...

I'm not sure that this could cause rejection but as far as I remember in case of rejection of the petition USCIS doesn't simply trash it, they actually return it by mail back to the sender. So if he didn't get anything back, USCIS most likely didn't receive anything.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct, it would be returned to the petitioner along with the reason why the case is being rejected (improper filing, incorrect fee, etc.)

Boy...Adam, a US citizen, certainly should know better than to send money order (which you cannot track- you can get some info if it was cashed) unless he sends it certified..."Something is rotten in the state of Denmark"

Just plan on canceling process to take 30-60 days...they have to investigate and make sure it is not cashed
