Expired police clearance

Ok... Sorry but I'm looking for people that have a definite answer and not opinions. No offense but I see so many opinions on here to other peoples questions and the OP never really has their questions answered.

My fiancee lived and worked in Hong Kong for 5 years. Once we decided to follow through with the K1 she went back to the Philippines. Before she left Hong Kong she got her police clearance. The problem is that it expires after 12 months and its been 14 now. So its expired by a couple months. She has never been back to Hong Kong since the police clearance was issued. We are ready for her interview but would rather get a new police clearance rather than get a 221g since the 221g can take any amount of time as they want. I read someone waited 12 months! Thats crazy! So my question is have any of you went to interview with expired police clearance and still got approved? I also read on the travel docs website that if she can show her passport and it proves she never left the Philippines again then the police clearance is ok even if its expired. Anyone experienced this first hand? Thanks

If one has never went back to a place after obtaining police certificate from there, you don't need to get one again if it's expired. While the quote from NVC is for immigrant visa, i believe it will apply to k1 visa seekers too.

From NVC website:

Important: Police certificates expire after one year, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued. If at the time of your interview the following three items are all true, you must bring a new police certificate to your visa interview:

You are more than 16 years old;

The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than one year ago; and

You still live in the country that issued the certificate.
