Making visitor visa appointments online

I'm helping my brother-in-law apply for a visitor visa in Casablanca. I've submitted the DS-156 for him online according to procedure at the consulate in Casablanca. Once you've done this it says you can schedule an appointment by using the online scheduler. However, I've been trying to access the site all day with no luck. I'm starting to think that you can only use the online scheduler from a computer in Morocco to schedule an appointment at the consulate in Morocco.

Does anyone have experience with these online scheduling systems? I'm sure that many countries use them. Do you have to be in the home country when making the appointment? Unfortunately, my BIL has absolutely no idea about computers or the internet, which is why I am trying to do it for him.

Thanks for your help.

It could be set up that way using IP addresses. Not sure if it is though. What happens after you enter the barcode?

Can he use a local internet cafe?

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Thanks. Turns out I panicked a bit too soon. It just wouldn't work from my work computer for some reason, but I managed to make an appointment from my home computer.

So I guess the answer is that you can make the appointment from anywhere. Good thing, it would have taken quite a bit of time on the phone I'm sure to talk him through the process from the internet cafe. Phew.
