Lost in Dallas?

I mailed my I-129F application to Dallas on Friday, Aug. 5, Priority Mail with Signature Confirmation requested. According to the USPS tracking computer, it arrived in Dallas on Sunday night. The next entry was yesterday morning at 5 AM: "Departed US facility", Dallas, TX 75260

So where did it go? No further entries yesterday or today. I understand it's headed to a Lockbox, but the Postal Service should at least show an attempt at delivery. I use it in my business all the time. Maybe the Post Office is waiting for someone to sign for it?

Anyone else have this experience with the mail?

What mailing address did you use? Usually USPS delivers USCIS documents to PO Box of the Lockbox not to the street address. If you have mailed to a street address (address for express/courier), then USPS might possibly forward that to the corresponding PO Box of that Lockbox but since you requested signature upon delivery, now there's a confusion. I guess wait till tomorrow if you see any update on USPS tracking otherwise give them a call.

That's normal. I remember seeing that when I was tracking mine. It does take some time (even after it arrives) for you to get NOA 1. You will see on NOA 1 that the date it was received is a few days prior to your NOA 1.

I would say, don't stress, just wait it out. You will find you do A LOT of waiting during this process! Don't lose patience before you even get started good! Lol!

It's the post office.

It's either arrived, or they've lost it.

All our immigration paperwork showed as "Delivered," but wouldn't show up for 3-5 days later.

Don't expect any accurate updated by them.

Thanks for the replies.

I mailed to the PO Box, but that may be the problem. When I get mail at my own PO Box, I've given the post office people authority to sign for me, but if USCIS hasn't done that, the Post Office may be waiting for somebody from Immigration to show up in the flesh, not just pick up the mail.

Whenever I mail Priority, "delivery" confirmation is always late, but usually not by more than a few hours. I've never seen Confirmation coming two days later. My worry is not about getting the NOA1, it's that Immigration hasn't gotten the papers at all because they're sitting in a cubby hole at the PO. I've seen that happen.

And I know all about waiting. Twenty years ago, I adopted a baby from China and that took a year. But that was a baby I hadn't yet seen. This time, "my baby" is waiting for me and vice versa. :)

Oh don't get me started about wait times. EVERY STEP on your journey will be filled with waiting. We are waiting on my wife's ROC and today is day 231. The projected adjutication date right now looks like it to be the anniversary of the original submittal. My friend pass me your spilt milk it's not your turn. :-)
