Fellow VJs,

Am filled with imaginations right now regarding the status of my AOS.I found out online that they mailed out an RFE to me yesterday but I havent had my biometrics and I believed that I submitted everything they wanted including the vaccination supplement. Please what did you guys who had an early RFE receive.Below is just my AOS timeline.

Date Filed : 2007-02-24

NOA Date : 2007-03-13

RFE(s) : 2007-03-22

And yet I can't help but notice that HAD the OP done so, we wouldn't be having this conversation...

There was nothing there in d's post. Simply the answer. Is it not better if she can use her time to direct more people to the answers than to spend additional time wrapping that link in rainbows and kittens?

Funny, I answered a post the eact same way yesterday and the OP came back with a hearty THANKS! Don't be intimidated, just click through. Try to not project on others. :)

M, your siggie is really is offensive to me, it's SO HARSH! :crying: How dare you suggest me to hurry!

What, I can't just ask a question, with no prior research done first? I much prefer spoon fed answers. ;)

"The SEARCH button on VJ is a wonderful resource. Use it BEFORE you ask questions! "

This is not a friendly statement.......and by capitalizing the "BEFORE" it becomes a command.....which comes across as extremely unfriendly.

There is nothing unfriendly about that statement. In fact, its actually a friendly way of saying "you noobs need to RTFM"

And you are obligated to make sure that no one is spoon fed?

Patience is required for this process.

Oh suck it up, you big baby!

Ironically, the OP is asking a question that can't possibly be answered: "what is my RFE (which I have not yet received) for?!?

#######. Does that mean I have to retract my 'big baby' comment to get my maturity rating back?

Are you the question Nazi? I find you to not be helpful, but very intimidating!!!

Not only was it not intimidating, s far as I can tell, it was extremely helpful as it guided the OP to the correct answer. It does state quite clearly at the top of the page when you post a reply "Please consider reading the FAQ's and Guides before posting." Too many people ignore this simple request.

People may be new to the site......If they want to ask a simple question, they should be allowed. But most people who are agressive or intimidating always say "What the ....? Go back and read your many post, and view it from a more timid person's perspective....

I did as you suggested Devilette should do. I still don't see what was intimidating or aggressive. Merely helpful.

So it is a requirement to research then ask questions, I do not remember reading anything of the sort when I first signed up for this site. If you dont want to answer someones unresearched question dont someone with a little more compassion and patience will try. You have a point that people should look for their own answers but often if you dont know how to ask the question you may not get the answers your looking for.

Yes it's a requirement. Just like it's a requirement that is requested on every message board I have ever seen. For you to say, "someone with a little more compassion and patience will try", is to accuse Devilette of lacking compassion and patience, which I see as far more dispassionate and impatient than her initial post in this thread. Furthermore it is precisely because people don't know how to ask the question when they first come to VJ that they should follow the simple request of reading the FAQs and Guidelines.

These are basic premises of every single message board that I have ever seen.

People here help others ALL the time ... It is FAR from unreasonable to post a " helpful " link that stears the OP to the facts .. I think the proper reponse to a help helpful link should have been THANKYOU  Rather then name calling ! This is not high school people !!

Absofrigginlutely. See, there is hope.

"The SEARCH button on VJ is a wonderful resource. Use it BEFORE you ask questions! "

This is not a friendly statement.......and by capitalizing the "BEFORE" it becomes a command.....which comes across as extremely unfriendly.

No it doesn't. It has exactly the same tone. But, because text has no tonal quality, capitalisation helps emphasise the words you would emphasise when using vocal speech. The exact same reason that smileys can be used.

Well I pretty much agree, but then again it does get annoying with the forums cluttering up with 100 threads asking the exact same question, when its already been answered 99 times before.

Altho I have to admit I've probably asked questions that have already been answered before! :)

Which is a good argument for this site to have more moderators. That is what moderators are for. They can move, merge, redirect and/or close threads. This would make VJ much more user friendly.

She/he can't. I WAS helpful. They have a personal vendetta against me, for some reason. I love how mature VJ is!

I think you were very helpful devilette. If I had asked that question and saw your response I would have simply said thank you, that's exactly what I need. There may have been a question, more specific to my case that would have appeared as a result of my reading those FAQs etc, and that would have been a question which would be answered joyfully by all who could.

It's precisely what happened to you here that I stopped posting on a regular basis. Too many knee jerk, know-it-all, STFU type responses.

Let the flaming begin. I can handle it.
