in AOS status do I need bring my passport for going to Hawaii?

Hey dear everybody, I will trave to hawaii for honeymoon but would like to double check do I need to bring my Chinese passport when I am in AOS waiting for 2 years green card status or I just need to bring my driving license?

Appreciate your immediate response!!!

AOS:

Receipt date: 09/27/2006

Transfer Notice date: 10/13/2006 (To CSC)

Biometrics taken date: 10/13/2006

Transfer Notice date: 04/30/2007(From CSC to NBC national benefits center)

Wish my green card will come soon!!!

Why would you not bring it with you? (Out of curiosity) and...aren't you supposed to be able to prove your status at all times?

Timeline

Traveling from the US Mainland there isn't an immigration check going from or to Hawaii. But technically, if you are traveling, you should have it with you.

Patience is required for this process.

Meaning only carrying my driver's license is not enough, i still need to carry my passport!

The reason why I am asking is because I really don't want to accidently lose my passport if it is not required.

I've travelled to Hawaii probably 7 times without a passport. Its not needed for travel.

That said technically you are supposed to have your passport on you at all times if you're a non-resident alien in the USA. Still nobody I know sticks to that rule!
