"We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California." referring to the chance that Obama might be assassinated.

I'm no fan of Trump and believe me, there is plenty of subject matter to go on regarding Trump. But folks, both Trump and the Trump bashing has reached idiotic levels.

All I've seen in the media is hypocritical, sensationalist slandering with no actual reference to policy alternatives.

He wants to deport 12 million people. "We have no realistic solution to preventing another generation from growing up undocumented, but he's racist."

He supports legal immigration. "He hates immigrants!"

He wants to ban Muslims. "We won't mention 'Islamic' and 'terrorism' in the same sentence, but he's racist."

He supports affirmative action. "He hates black people."

He support transgender bathrooms. "He's a bigot."

He wants to pull American troops out of [insert sh*thole]. "He's dangerous to world peace."

Exactly media spun this into something that wasn't. Yawn. Fodder food for idiots.

As always, context is everything. If it wasn't for this history, maybe one could believe that. Or maybe not so many people, including Speaker Paul Ryan, Rep. Peter King and former Rep Joe Scarborough, by the way, would have understood it the way they did. But Trump's history is what it is. This wasn't a first and won't be a last,. He just cannot help himself.

In May, the Secret Service investigated Donald Trump’s butler over a Facebook post saying that President Barack Obama “should be shot as an enemy agent.”

Secret Service agents also interviewed a Trump campaign adviser last month, after he said that Hillary Clinton “should be put in the firing line and shot for treason.”

In December, Trump himself appeared on the radio show of the conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who has warned that the federal government might round up gun owners “like Jews in Nazi Germany.”

And refrains of “hang the ######” and “kill the ######” have grown increasingly common at Trump rallies.

Even before Trump’s Tuesday remark that “Second Amendment people” might stop Hillary Clinton’s Supreme Court appointments, his associates and supporters had repeatedly called for violence against Clinton and Obama, while right-wing leaders and militia groups that support Trump speak of an armed response to federal gun control efforts.

Your glib and horrifying comment about "Second Amendment people" was heard around the world. It was heard by sane and decent people who shudder at your fondness for verbal violence. It was heard by your supporters, many of whom gleefully and angrily yell, "Lock her up!" at your rallies. It was heard by the person sitting alone in a room, locked in his own dark fantasies, who sees unbridled violence as a way to make his mark in the world, and is just looking for ideas. Yes, Mr. Trump, words matter. But then you know that, which makes this all even more horrifying.
