I was trying to follow a thread that had a timeline for the I-824 submission, approval, and forrwarding of the I-130 to NVC. I can't find it and I also can't find anything on the I-824 process. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can see by my timeline that I already made a foolish mistake, I filed the I-824 with a signature using my middle initial. I only use that signature for taxes and mortgage papers because it has been required. All the other immigration forms, the checks I sent with them, and my passport don't have the middle initial. "OOPS" REJECTED. I loose 2 weeks and start over again! I have resubmitted the I-824. Today I called and the USCIS - CSC agent told me that I will receive a receipt notice for the I-824 and that my I-130 will be forwarded to NVC. I don't know if this is correct or not. I thought I read here that the I-824 had to also be approved (which takes a few months) before the I-130 would be forwarded. I hope someone has knowledge of this new part of the process. Please help if you can, thanks, Mike & Zhen.

Turbo,

In our case, CSC made a mistake in processing our I-130 and I had to send them an I-824 and $200 to correct it. However I discovered you can send CSC a FAX and e-mail to get them to correct their mistakes and I did so and they did correct their mistake well before the I-824 was even touched. Six months later our I-824 was processed, they sent me a letter stating the I-130 was already sent to NVC. I think since there are so few I-824's submitted it really does take 6 months or more to process them.
