K1 co-sponsor allowed in Guangzhou?

I do not meet the income requirements to sponsor my fiancé myself, and could easily get my immediate family to co-sponsor who do meet the requirements. We would both need to fill out the I-134. Does anyone know if this is allowed at the consulate in Guangzhou? I've read there are some consulates that accept this and others that do not accept co-sponsors on an I-134. If anyone has experience with this specific to the consulate in GZ it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You can certainly prepare the I-134 and get the tax records from the co-sponsor. I met the income requirements, but had a co-sponsor as a back up. When my wife went to the interview in GZ last year, there was a woman at the window who took all of the documents she prepared. After reviewing them she told my wife that they don't need the co-sponsors financial forms, and to proceed into the Embassy. Apparently she was a local who had been hired to intake the documents and was peeved by the amount of paperwork she had to sift through.

So, yes you can get it but they may not look that carefully. By the time of the interview they pretty much know everything you have submitted to them. It is a quick 5 minute interview with 2+ hours of waiting.
