Hey! Can you help me with this. I received letter wrom USCIS and they say :

Case Approval Was Reaffirmed And Mailed Back To Department Of State

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

On October 3, 2016, the Department of State returned your case, Receipt Number WAC**, to us for further review and we mailed you a notice affirming our original approval. Please contact the Department of State directly for any further information on your case.

What is it mean??

If it gets worse on our case with delay issues, how do we get our senator get involve on our case? I mean, we can ask help them to expedite the process?

The best way is to do a Google search for the senator / congressional representative for your state. Once you locate the web page for your senator, look for an option that allows you to access CONSTITUENT SERVICES. From there, you can select HELP with a FEDERAL OFFICE, and finally, look for IMMIGRATION SERVICES. Each representative's website will be set up differently, but the options I listed should be pretty standard.

Once you select IMMIGRATION SERVICES, you should be taken to an online form that asks for information regarding your request. You will eventually be contacted by an immigration services liaison and asked to sign a short disclaimer and privacy release form allowing the liaison to act on your behalf.

If all else fails, many representatives have multiple offices. Search LOCATIONS and find the office nearest to you and pay them a visit.

PLEASE EVERYONE - my best advice is to get your senator/congressman involved. the immigration liason team has more power than us and I think we all know its a fact USCIS doesn't give 2 craps about us. contact them and get them involved. I think i would still be waiting and still would not have known they lost my petition if I didn't get my senator involved.

Thank god the nightmare is over and hope you all get through it too. feel free to ask me any questions.

So after 8 weeks and 4 days we get an email from USCIS saying that our petition has been sent to Department of State?

Does that mean its finally on its way to NVC or has it headed in the wrong direction again :(

They found the paperwork at NRC

Very happy to hear that you are moving in the right direction. I would give it 48 hours and then start calling NVC everyday. Generally, petitions are received in batches on Fridays and some are actually assigned case numbers the same day. Others take a few days. Remember, NVC is staffed until midnight M-F EST).

Farzram and Greg- have either of your cases been forwarded to your embassy yet? I'm bouncing around like crazy checking the CEAC site but it still says my petition is at the NVC :( Booo!!

Mine was forwarded almost immediately. NVC had ours for two business days, and then it was in transit. Last check at CEAC STATUS shows READY.

How long has yours been hanging around NVC? If more than a week I would definitely be calling and lighting some fires. We're rooting for ya. If there was something I could do for you, I would.

My opinion: other than Tier II officers, most of the operators at USCIS that we speak with are minimum wage contractors. They are not trained (other than to read from folder of canned responses). Most have never dealt with any immigration issues, and they lack even the most basic knowledge. Most of what comes out of their mouths aren't necessarily lies, but just plain ####### because they have no clue what they're talking about. Think about the plethora of random and sometimes misleading answers VJ members get when calling. There is a LOT of turnover at the USCIS call center.
