What causes delay between NOA2 and NVC case number?

Got an email from my congressional representative today informing me that there have been server / database issues at USCIS CSC and as a result, the investigation into our lost case is delayed. Just my luck, right?!?

On a whim, I called NVC this evening expecting the same response I've received the last hundred times. Guess what? They received or case TODAY and already had an MNL number assigned. Can you believe that? Woo hoo!!!!! We are finally moving forward. Praise God!

I emailed the immigration liaison conducting the investigation via my senator's office and told her she has one less thing to do next week. Haha.

I called Dyn in the Philippines and woke her up. When I told her the good news, she broke down and cried like a baby. Through heavy sobs and a runny nose, she said she felt a wave of relief wash over her. I agree. This chapter of the tragic USICS vs NVC ordeal is behind us.

MEETING

12 March 2012: Met Dyn at a coffee shop in Kuwait

Summer 2012: I returned home to the U.S. to prepare a way for Dyn

Fall 2014: Dyn returns home to Philippines after seven years in Kuwait

ANNULMENT

February 2014: Engaged while I visited Philippines

March 2014: Officially hired attorney and filed for Dyn's annulment in Bohol, Philippines

December 2015: Bohol District Court issues decision in our favor

December 2015: Judge sends transcript of his decision to OSG for processing

February 05 2016: OSG returned receipt and approval to district court in Bohol. CoF to be issued end of second week in February

February 09 2016: Dyn is presented with the Entry of Judgment and her Certificate of Finality via the local court.

February 15 2016: LCR issues annotated marriage certificate, and necessary documents are forwarded to the NSO / PSA visa LBC

April 19 2016: Received CENOMAR and Annotated MC from PSA via private courier. DONE! COMPLETE! FINISHED! OFFICIAL!

I-129F / K1 VISA APPLICATION PROCESS

April 04 2016: I-129F sent to Texas Lockbox via USPS Priority Mail

April 12 2016: Email from USCIS acceptance confirmation

April 17 2016: Official NOA1 hard copy received

July 12 2016: NOA2 Approval hard copy received

July 14 2016: Post Decision Activity email from USCIS

THE LONG WAIT (USCIS misplaced approved petition)

September 16 2016: NVC received approved I-129F petition and assigns case number

INTERVIEW / MEDICAL PROCESS

October 04 2016: Day 1 of medical at SLEC in Manila

October 05 2016: Psychiatric evaluation off-site due to psychological incapacity annulment (10 hour eval with 800 question profile test)

October 13 2016: CFO Seminar completed successfully and certificate awarded (CFO stamp not issued until visa is presented).

October 20 2016: Return to SLEC complete psychological evaluation with resident psychologist (less than ten minutes)

October 21 2016: Vaccination day at SLEC (medical finally complete)

October 25 2016: Visa interview at USEM in Manila (APPROVED)

HOMECOMING

November 19 2016: Dyn's arrival at POE Dulles IAD in Washington DC

December 01 2016: Married

I did actually. I sent her a text while she was sleeping saying I had bad news. She woke up and texted me back expecting the worst. It was a real joy delivering the good news to her instead.

omg finally! congratulations :) The part where she cried made my eyes tear up too. It's like we all know that relief, even tho some of us are waiting longer at some points than others... Happy you guys are on ur way :)

WOW that is awesome news! so so happy for you, i am so glad you guys can finally move on and thats one step closer to being together.

as for me- my senators office let me know today that USCIS notified them that the review is complete of the reconstructed petition- new approval dated 9/14/16 has been issued, and it will be sent out within 1-2 days with UPS next day delivery...... lets cross our fingers and hope I am actually there by end of this week!

same here. No news for 2 months after NOA2.. I started to take actions 2 weeks ago (cz they want you to wait 6 weeks first, then you can complain), calling-emailing every day to both agencies, senator will inquire too. They lost our case when they suppose to expedite!! But I have no copy of orig petition docs (in case they will ask me to reconstruct everything). What to do? I want to prepare reconstruction docs in advance to gain time. Arent they suppose to scan docs and have them in their computer

?

03/22/17....After several fights was interviewed in Paris. They kept my passport. Was told Administrative Processing won't take more than 2-3 weeks.

Yikes .... we are at this step now.

I am already fired up about government inefficiency as a general rule... I imagine this will do nothing to change my opinion lol

Any word on your petition making it to the NVC Far? We just got our new NOA2 about a week and a half ago and are waiting for our case number now.
