UPDATE!! The NVC received our paperwork this morning! We won't have a case number for up to two weeks, but it's in their system and no longer among the missing! Hope everyone else gets good news this week too!

Okay so I can't believe this.

Just got an email from my senators office with their response from USCIS: According to the agency,

The file was received and the original approved I-129F petition is not in the file. The file indicates that the I-129F petition was transferred to the NVC on July 1, 2016. To avoid further delays, it is necessary to reconstruct the I-129F petition for this beneficiary. Please submit the following information directly to my attention."

A completed Form I-129F petition. The I-129F petition must contain the petitioners original signature or the reconstruct cannot be processed.

A copy of all supporting documentation/evidence that was submitted with the original petition in January 2016.

USCIS records show a request for evidence (RFE) was issued on March 1, 2016 and a response was received on May 16, 2016. Please include a copy of the RFE and the information that was submitted with the response.

NOTE: Original documents should not be submitted. THERE WILL BE NO FEE FOR THIS RECONSTRUCTED PETITION.

ARE YOU F-ING KIDDING ME ?!?! Is this real? I'm so mad.

So I called the lady at the accountants office who we had set up our whole petition (who hasn't been very helpful btw) I asked her if she has a copy of my I-129f etc because she tends to be ditzy. She said - "yes I have all that but I emailed NVC 2 days ago asking about the status of your petition and I just received an email this morning stating they recently received your petition and will also mail us a letter in 4-5 weeks " she said there was no case number states in the email but that they sent it this morning to her.

She advised me to call NVC and see if they have the petition because of the email she received this morning it's possible they may have it since I haven't called in 2 days..... She said contact NVC first and see if they indeed received the petition befote she gathers my "reconstructed" I-129f petition.

I'm at a loss for words right now and have no clue what to think. Going to call NVC and see what's up! If it's not there I'm going to be very upset I'm sending in my package all over again- who knows how long this will take for them to send to NVC etc!

Congrats! Happy for you and hope I'm there too after I call them! I doubt it but who knows at this point !

Also- they say 2 weeks... Don't wait 2 weeks to call. People called later in the day or a day after and were assigned case number. Max I've seen them assign a case number was 2-3 days. Call back and ask! Don't listen to their 2 weeks BS!

Farzham- I am SO sorry to hear this. They actually ###### lost your petition, I don't believe it.

And I think the same thing happened to us.

I just got my service request response in the mail from the USCIS, guess what it said? "We forwarded your case to the NVC on July 1st, 2016". The SAME DATE AS YOURS! That is NOT a coincidence.

I am freaking out. I don't know what to do, but I guarantee you our files were bundled together and both got lost together. Please let me know what the NVC tells you, I have my fiance' currently on hold with them as my landline cannot do "long distance" calls now apparently for some dumb reason even though i'm in the US.

WOW! what a freaking coincidence! I don't know what to think anymore.

My stupid hangouts app and Internet service keeps cutting me off while I'm on hold calling the NVC. You mentioned you called this morning- what number did you use? I heard that some people here on VJ would call the 0888 number (non immigrant line) and they said it's not received- but called later to the immigrant line and they say it's received! Try calling the 0700 number!

I'm going to call in a few it's 1 am where I am and need to top up my minutes to do a long distance call! I will definetly keep you updated .... Let's hope we aren't lost and we have just been received by NVC !

I think it's very interesting they say your file arrived, but your petition did not arrive in that file. What WAS in the file then, all of the other documents? Letters of intent, everything? How does that even happen? Where did your petition actually go?

I used the nonimmigrant line, fiance's on the immigrant line now on hold. Fingers massively crossed we get positive news we can send to you as well. I know now beyond a shadow of a doubt you and I are in the same boat, the same stack of papers, and we will wade through this sea of stupidity together.

Ok I'm super confused than I ever was before.

Just got off the phone with NVC. Really nice guy- but not sure what to think. I told him my case number and he said- when were you approved and when did they say they sent it out?

I told him- June 8th approved USCIS said they sent it to you guys by July 1st. And I also got an email yesterday (well the lady working on my case did) that "we recently received your visa petition. NVC will send you further instructions"

He said- well if you got that email than I would say it's here- but just not updated into our system because we need to assign case number etc.

I told him- but I'm confused as to why it's not showing up in your system as atleast RECEIVED. He said it may not be showing up on my system right now but you got an email from NVC stating that we received it so maybe it will take a few days to show up WITH case number assigned. Keep calling back for correspondence and case number - or embassy will probably contact you.

I asked again- so you really think my case has been received? He said yes if you got the email I suppose so... It's just not showing up for me here.

What in the world.......... I'm confused more than ever. What do I do?!?!

Teacat- what did they say to you? Any good news?

I called again (I'm so ####### I know) ... Asked to speak to supervisor but was refused. They told me that the email team has more access to petitions than they do and if they sent me an email saying they received it they probably did it's just waiting to be put into the system and I am free to call back as much as I'd like whenever I'd like it should take a few days.

Feeling hopeful- kinda sorta not really. But trying to stay positive. If I am not in their system by the end of the week or Monday I will probably be up their butt and USCIS when I get back Thursday to the US and figure out if I actually need to reconstruct my petition.

For some odd reason I feel like it's at NVC and they just had it siting there and realized now- and USCIS is basically letting us know they sent it July 1st it should be there but if NVC continues to say it's not that I would need to reconstruct my petition and have them resend it to them.

Hoping it's at NVC and I get better news by Friday :( l

At the six week mark today and NVC still has nothing. USCIS can't even tell me where our case is or where it was last.

USCIS Customer Service also told me that the six week wait is only a guideline and I must now wait a full ninety days before any investigation can begin to locate a potential missing case. Are you kidding me? Why the !$#* does it take USCIS three full months to send an approved petition??? I kindly requested a Tier II Supervisor who has the ability to track the case's movements and last known location. I was told that a Tier II Supervisor wasn't available to take my call. What a joke this has turned into. Nobody knows anything, and worse yet, nobody seems to care.

Have you scanned a copy of your approved petition to NVCResearch@state.gov? Include your receipt # as the subject line, and in the body of the message state your name and DOB and the beneficiary's name and DOB, along with a note saying it's been 6 weeks. Do not expect an immediate response other than the auto reply. I did this and had a case number a week later. I know others have done the same with no luck, but at least this gets the process started and documents that you are still waiting.

Hang in there.
