Just a quick note... adoption for immigration doesn't work like that. Immigration has clamped down on adoption rules for the very reason you mention, "she would adopt a niece and bring her to America (as a start)". It the child is over 16 or either parent is alive and breathing, adopting them for immigration is nearly impossible.

Interestingly she was well aware of that. The child is now 13.

In light of that, I wouldn't say you're out at all. That's only $192.30 per week which in street value of such services is actually pretty good indeed.

Very true, if the only thing I was looking for was sex. But what I really sought was a lifetime loving relationship with a wife.

Given the option, sex (sugar daddy) was not an arrangement that I would have been interested in.

The sadness alone that one experiences after finding that the person they love played you is not worth 10x that sum.

It has become rather common-place today, and in America I believe there are websites that are essentially "pay my tuition" in exchange for certain favors.

Perhaps this is a new wave of immigration fraud where the US citizen becomes an unwitting sugar daddy, and perhaps as time goes on well see thousands of relationships end almost immediately after receipt of the Permanent GC.

I've read that only 1% of even alleged fraud is investigated. So it's pretty much easy picking.

Thank you all who responded.

Some were helpful indeed.

Some were not, apparently this subject touches some nerves--that's understandable.

Some responses were bitter, and I see them as mean, but perhaps that is understandable too.

It's interesting that the ones who seem to "vent," are the ones who seem to accuse others of venting.

As for the common: "You can't do anything about the I-864" all I'll say is: "Oh yes I can", and I shall if it ever comes to that, and if it does I'll document the Court activity here in the hopes that it'll help others. I have some experience with both State and Federal Courts and though I'm not a lawyer I would raise the affirmative defenses and would actually follow through.

I never said you didn't comment on one of my comments. In your attempt to dismiss my advice with a sarcastic tone you've mixed up my post with that of someone else. I have given you solid advice with 2 alternatives - one if you can provide proof of fraud and one if you cannot.

If you are going to ignore my advice in favour of providing ridiculous responses to my posts, it would serve you well to actually read my posts.

I'd recommend seeking that from a country that isn't pretty darn close to 100% scammers next time.

November 14th, 2013: She's here!

December 12th, 2013: Picked up marriage license.

December 14th, 2013: Wedding
