I have to go with Target. I used to do Walmart when my kids were young but as they got older it seems the ones in my travel areas have become filled with too much of nothingness and they are always too crowded. I would rather Walmart for the prices but Target stores are popping up all over in more convenient locations so I’m also driven by convenience. When I add in gas for the travel, Target is just a better choice.

I prefer Target to Wal-Mart, even though I do shop at Wal-Mart a lot for grocery items.

I find the Wal-Mart near me to be a lot harder to get through the check-outs than the Target store.

I find the quality of the products to be about the same, but Target gets you through the check-out way faster.

My husband won't shop at either store... he's a bit of a snob that way.

I will shop at Walmart for grocery items like canned goods, frozen foods and odds and ends. BUT every time I have gone to a Walmart Supercenter when I lived in the U.S. and attempted to try their "fresh" produce it was not fresh. The produce would be molding and expired! I will not buy meats from Walmart either, the quality does not compare with other local grocery stores.

Target I like for their clothing, beauty items as well as household items such as kitchenware, bathware or home decorating items. I have not been to a Target supercenter but there will be one in the area I am moving to once I get the K-1 so we will see if its any better than Walmart supercenter.

I am a Wal-Mart employee. Our store is very clean, infact the associates that clean our store are very meticulous about cleanliness. My asst mgr is great, just yesterday i had a chat with him about me being sick, yet again........... Normally i would get a point added if i called in sick or left early(before i'd even done half my shift) but i was told to go home, take the next 2 days off work to get better. Management in our store are very friendly, where else could you find Management and regular employees all sitting together, having a laugh.

Not many employers would put up with 7 months of continuous illness, but Wal-Mart has. They are even trying to get me transfered to a different part of the store due to my ongoing medical health.

I've been to my local Target and i must say i wasn't that impressed, even after it got refurbished.

So, people..... its Wal-Mart for me.

I vote Target over Wal-Mart, mostly because the Wal-Mart in our town is the busiest one on the eastern U.S.; it's insane trying to get in and out of there, though they do have the cheapest groceries around.

My brother also has his theory about Wal-Mart: the level of insanity at Wal-Mart doesn't decrease into the late night/early morning hours, it's just that the insanity is now concentrated into much fewer people (as in crazy drunks and people who talk/curse loudly to themselves).

I just got a job at Target, by the way. This is a temporary gig until law school starts next year.

I shop at both depending on what I want and where I am - they are located in different parts of the community - we actually have two super Walmarts close by and a regular Target and a SuperTarget closeby. My preference is the Super Target, especially for groceries. I love their wn brand products and they generally have more variety of different types of food - not the same old same old. My biggest complaint about the Walmart's - both are new and big and clean - is that the parking lots are terrible - small spaces, over crowded, difficult to get a parking space close to the store so if I have a choice, I generally choose the Target or Super Target.

walmart is the closest, so i shop there every now and then. i prefer target over walmart, but it's too far away, i've only been there 5 times at most.

Where i really shop is Post Exchange and the commissary on base.
