I like Target, their stuff tends to be better quality, plus they sell Method cleaning products which we love (especially the wipes and the unscented laundry detergent). Walmart always seems crowded to me, I think their aisles are narrower. (Props to them though, their store brand cosmetics and such aren't tested on animals.)

And of course some Wal-Marts treat their employees like sh*t. Not all, but some.

Walmart is cheaper and has a wider range of stock, but it's not quite as good quality and the queues at the checkouts tend to be horrendous! I would buy my clothes at Target in preference to walmart but their plus-sized section sucks bigtime! We've started shopping at Kmart too...

(yes, I'd LOVE to be able to afford Sears or JC Penney but it's way out of our price range...)

I prefer Target over Walmart. Walmart (the few times I ventured there) always has such a claustrophobic feeling to it, wich is anxiety provoking. Target is much more spacious and there are never lines.

Target; I don't go to Walmart for a variety of reasons (labor conditions, quality of products, distance compared to other stores, etc).

What I like about Super Target is the fact that their food section includes lots of organic or at the very least whole grain food. Their produce section is decent (better than Walmart's) and has a lot of variety. They also sell non-hormone raised beef and other meats. Best of all, it's not that expensive.

If I could afford it, I wouldn't shop at Target either, however; I prefer smaller stores.

I go to both. Walmart definitely have cheaper products, but we have to be careful with them, some of them are really junks ! And their fresh meat is icky !! (well, at least at the ones nearby where I live) Target has better produce sections in my opinion, and also better clothing and accessories sections (better quality and I like their designs better than Wally's). Wally has larger home appliances section and also more choices in pet section. So all in all, it depends on what I need to buy ;)

Some things I buy (or have bought) at Wal-Mart:

  • a few grocery items such as milk
  • microcassette tapes
  • inexpensive (mostly particleboard, but also card-table sets) furniture

From Target:

  • some (casual-only) clothing.
  • discontinued electronic item (microwave) for office

Admittedly, Target is generally more expensive, but its wider aisles and generally better displays account for this.

Both! Wal-mart for every day things and groceries, and Target for fun things/gifts/decor. Our Target is fun here. I don't feel like it's unfriendly or anything, maybe it just matters what city/town you are in. They always have good clearance in the clothing section too, I have many times gotten a cute shirt for $6 in the clearance. We don't have a super Target, although they did add in a small grocery section recently. No produce or anything though.

I love both places!!

I'm a comparison shopper and many times Walmart is a lot cheaper in things than other places...as someone else said, show me who sells everything cheaper, and such a wide variety, and I'll shop there. For now, walmart wins that one for me. I don't have enough money to be mad at walmart or chain stores to not shop there for whatever reasons, only people with more money can do that.

Since I have neither near me and can't get to either easily, I don't shop at either...

:crying::crying::crying:

BUT...I have bought several things at Target's online store and have been pleased with price and quality. I tried to find a few things at Walmart's online shop and couldn't find what I wanted or needed.

I'm looking forward to trying both. We don't have Target up here yet (but I can get to 4 Ikeas easily  ), and the Walmart near me sucks so I don't go.

Like Cristy I'm excited about Super & 24 hours!, this is a whole new concept for me, downtown Toronto doesn't have such things.
