Mimolicious,

Thank you so very much for your information. I actually feel so much more relieved after reading your post. And your home is gorgeous! Thank you again!!

My pleasure :)

And to add, although we married on our first visit, that first visit was for 7 weeks. I also traveled back to Jordan 3 more times after I flied the petition and between the time of his interview 7 months later, so we had a lot of real life face time. The CO wasn't aware(that I know of) that I traveled back so many times because he never asked for any additional evidence at the interview. So as far as he knew I had been to Jordan only twice(once when we married and when I was there for the interview) when I had actually been 4 times-7 weeks when we married in November, 5 weeks in January/February, 4 weeks in May and 7 weeks in July/August

My fiance is 31 years older than me and we I got recently approved without any issues.

You won't have any problem with your "large" 11 years. Some embassies may nitpick on it, I definitely recommend for you to be interviewed in London as mentioned by other people above.

I am 30 years older than my fiance and I am a woman. It was a very big problem but not about visa, about we both accepting we are in love, we both knew it from the beginning but it was hard to accept and believe it would work, it was a very difficult time to understand the age difference means nothing, we both tried to fight this love which just became stronger, finally we both gave up accepting this love is stronger than any age difference believing and here we are, going for K1 visa.

Will the CO or somebody else ask questions and have doubts? I don't know, maybe yes and maybe not but we both learned and we both don't have any doubt it's the real love and we want to be married. I can't give him children but fortunately he has his daughter and I am happy about that. Please, just wish us luck, we did tried to stop it, it didn't work

I can relate to this in so many levels!! :luv:

Our age difference wasn't even mentioned, not even a comment, plus we're a same-sex couple too. We stressed over nothing, the relationship itself was harder to accept. But love eventually wins :dancing:

My ex-husband was 11 years older. We had absolutely no issue in getting K-1 and AOS approved. We never thought it would be issue on immigration fronts and others. We never worried about it either.

Even tho our marriage fell apart I am not worried that *this* would be an issue in removing conditions. Other factors may, but not this.

Just my 2 cents. Bottom line is 11 years is not big difference. And such difference given genuine marriage is not something to worry about in front of USCIS.

Hello All,

First, I just want to thank all of you for your questions and contributions, and support in general. I love coming on here and knowing that we're all going through shared journeys...for love!

I am really concerned, and it may not be a big deal...but just not sure. I'm 11 years older than my fiance, and I am the petitioner. According the VJ, our file will be adjudicated in the next few weeks. But, I'm worried that I may receive an RFE because they might see the age difference (especially because I'm a much older, female petitioner) as a big red flag.

Is anyone in a similar situation and if so, how has the process been for you? Any challenges due to the age difference?

Thank you so much!

Jackie

My husband (my former k1 petitionary) is 11 years and 11 months older than me. On top of that he is my 4th cousin.

It was never an issue, it wasn't even brought up during the k1 interview...11 years is nothing! I've seen couples here with 25-30 years gap and no issues

it depends on the country norms and the interviewer. If your relationship is solid and yo have proof then no worries. I'm older than my husband but the men tend to go after older females in Jamaica from what I've seen. Men date younger woman all of the time. If you were 20+ years then worry 11 yrs doesn't seem like much. i know married folks in the states who have the witht he female being the eldest. Just have your proof, relax and you'll be fine.

I agree NEVER bring money transfer receipts.

I also agree with this although I think I sent some Xoom receipts when Joan and I went through the process--I forgot, it has been almost four years. You just don't want the consular to think that this is about money. BTW...I am 29 years older than Joan---it was never an issue for us. Good luck.
