Hello you all!

My fiancé and me are very close to marrying using the K-1 Visa, and then we'd be applying for Adjustment of Status. We'll be living with his folks and likely making a joint bank account, but other than those things and wedding photos and such, that's all we'll have for a while (we'll possibly also have health insurance, but probably not immediately). The plan is for me to get employed somewhere so we can move into an apartment together next year, but I'm a bit worried that the USCIS won't be satisfied with our case. My fiancé's father is the co-sponsor and can support us and my fiancé works, but doesn't make as much. I'd just like to know if there would be any reason for USCIS to deny me the conditional green card, because I'm taking a risk moving to live with my future husband in America and would like some peace of mind if possible.

Thank you very much! :)

My husband got his greencard with one joint bank account statement and a couple pictures. AOS doesn't require much to file and get approved. But you should start collection relationship evidence after filing anyway. You might need it for the interview (or you might not) but you'll definitely need it for the step after the initial greencard (Removal of Conditions - ROC).

K-1 from Haiti - NOA1: 5/27/2014; NOA2: 7/8 USCIS never updated to say that it was sent to the NVC (just in case you're as concerned about your status not updating as I was about mine)
NVC Case Number Received: 7/31; Left NVC: 8/1 - tracked via DHL website; CEAC Status - Ready: 8/7; Packet 3 Received: 9/5 - Beneficiary received packet / Medical Completed: 9/19;
DS-160 Submitted: 9/22 - (CEAC date updated); Packet 3 Submitted: 9/26; Packet 4 Received: 10/24; Interview Date: 11/6 @ 7 am Interview Result: Approved!
CEAC Status Issued: 11/10; USTraveldocs.com finally acknowledged Fiance's passport actually in their system: 11/20; Passport Received: 11/21;

POE: 11/23/2014; Wedding: 2/14/2015

AOS/EAD/AP Filed: 2/21/2015;

USCIS EAD & AP received: 2/25; USCIS AOS received: 2/27; Received NOA1s in mail: 3/5; Biometrics: 3/26; EAD/AP Card in Production: 5/11; EAD/AP Card Mailed: 5/1; EAD/AP Card Received 5/19; NPIW Letter dated: 6/11/15; Green card Approved: 10/1/15;

Green card Received: 10/7/15

Also be aware that you won't be able to work right away. You'll need either your conditional green card or your AP/EAD combo card. I think right now the combo card has been taking right around 3 months after the NOA 1 of the AOS, so you're likely looking at about 5-6 months of unemployment when you arrive in the US.

based from my expierience my advice :-

if you're landing in US get married same week or the next.

get your marriage registered and keep all paperwork ready and send it ASAP.

that way you have a good chance of getting EAD faster

meaning you are eligible to work

You should be fine. AOS doesn't require much evidence other than a marriage certificate. Applying for ROC will require much more evidence of co-mingling finances, etc.

Hi, is the same applies as of 2018??
