As a US citizen, you can travel anywhere you want provided you have a valid passport and any visa required by that foreign country.

Here is a website to use to determine what country you can freely visit and what their requirements are based on your passport. The first box you will put the country your traveling to, second box is your citizenship and the third is where you are living. It will then give you the answer to what is needed to travel to that country.

My question is not if I CANNNNN travel, I am a US Citizen, I have traveled to and back to Peru to see my fiance many times. I am sure Colombia would not be a problem for me to get to. My questions is.. while I process the K-1 for my fiance and it is pending, can me and my fiance travel to Colombia for a mini vacation or should I stay put and wait. Will traveling outside of the US be a problem? Will it affect the process or answer to my K-1?

I have a passport and can travel out of the country.

My fiance has a passport and can also travel to Colombia.

Can it affect my k-1?

It can't affect in anyway unless you travel to a country that is high on terrorist activities, which could possibly trigger additional lengthy background checks.

You have nothing to worry about traveling to Colombia :)
