Greetings everybody,

calling all applicants undergoing AP to please post and share your story here. This is an effort to help a lot of us to calm doing during this long journey. Sharing our stories might enlighten with some hope to cross the long river alive. If you are undergoing AP right now, please do not hesitate to share.

I begin with my own (K1):

My interview was in mid March ( first interview rescheduled from mid January ), I was requested to submit additional documents after the interview ended, they kept my passport and handed me my rights as an immigrant brochure. After submitting the documents I was on AP since then, in mid August I will be 5 months under AP. My passport is still at the consulate since then.

Consulate of the U.S in Casablanca.

You need to contact the embassy to find out if your K1 packet was returned to the US

If so, they need to return your passport

email to this ID

IVCasablanca@state.gov

if they say your case it retuned to US, there is nothing to do but to reapply K1 or i suggest marry and do the CR1

a K 1 case sent back to the US for AP is allowed to die out / nothing is done with it

this happened to our friend Rachid in 2014 / he gave the required 2 documents about a week after the interview ? ask the VJ community about K1 and AP being returned to US

Casa embassy is very hard on K1 applicants / they try to make you give up by saying you are in AP and making you think someone actually works on your case

If you need to know the requirements to marry in Morocco, send me a message and i can email you the instructions

This is my freind's case and what AP can be like

Administrative Processing

Immigrant Visa Case Number: CSB2014xxxxxxxxxx CSB Case Creation Date: 17-Jun-2014 Status Updated Date: 05-Jun-2015
Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days. Under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, Immigrant Visas for "Diversity Visas" cannot be issued after September 30th of the year in which you were selected to apply for a Diversity Visa. For example, entrants into the Diversity Visa Program in Fall of 2011 were selected for Diversity Visa 2012 Program, and selectees MUST apply and receive their visa prior to September 30, 2012 otherwise they lose eligibility to receive a Diversity Immigrant Visa, regardless of additional administrative processing. In addition, please note that some immigrant visas may not be able to be issued if the annual numerical limit for that category has been reached.

For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV.

That's the same message me and my fiance got today. His interview was in the morning and everything was going so smooth. Interview started and the CO was fixated on 3 things: my degree from college, engagement party pics (we had the actual engagement pic since it was a surprise at the airport and afterwards we had dinner with some family friends to celebrate. But no actual party celebration since this could be thought of as wedding) and the name of my ex boyfriend from 8 years ago.

My fiancé answered the first 2 with confidence. Forgot the ex name and honestly said I forgot cuz it's been a long time. The CO passed judgement and said I'm confused I need more information.

She didn't say it was denied. Gave him two papers. 1 said 221g the other return to uscis. Told us to wait 60 days....

she might as well slapped us in the face. This totally changed our life and plans now.

Now we have to wait for God knows how long to close it and send a letter saying it expired before I can apply again??

I'm sorry to hear that dear, it's unfortunate that we have to go through such pain.

I advice you to wait, the CO verbally instructed you to wait 60 days, CO is hesitant but nothing is denied. Just wait 60 days and contact them again.

I just want to ask you some questions if you don't mind:

Was the CO an African American lady?

What the "return to usic" paper says?

What the 221g paper says?

Did she take his passport?

Did she give him any other document?

Just keep your hopes up, she will be deciding within 60 days and they will sure contact you with good news.

Yes she was a young black woman. She wouldn't tell my fiance her name or aknowledge him not any way.she never asked for his passport. And besides the 2 papers (see attached) she gave him nothing else. Didn't even say what kind for information she needed. Which I'm sure we had if she asked.
