Hi guys!

Just a question that's probably pretty easy but I can't find a simple answer.

If my fiancé and I require a cosponsor for our K-1; does the cosponsor need to be the same for the I-134 before I arrive in the States and the I-864 for AOS? Or can they be different people?

I ask because our cosponsor is very traditional (fiancé's grandfather) and he doesn't yet know that my fiancé plans to take my name instead of me taking his. We're worried once he learns this after the wedding that he would no longer be willing to sign for the 864. We have a backup for the 864 just in case this happens, but we're unsure if we should get the backup to do the I-134 for us as well. In short, if it matters if the signers for the two separate forms and applications are different.

Thanks so much!
