AR-11 can I use friend/relative address or PO box for few weeks?

My current lease is ending end of August. I haven't signed the next year's lease yet and am very likely to hop between temporary housing (and short trips) till I sign one for next year, which will happen sometime in September.

Is it OK to update a friend/relative's address for the interim (likely to be around 10 days, definitely less than 30), or I MUST provide the address where I am physically?

Is it OK to give a P.O. box during interim?

I'm 2 days short of 60 days waiting for a RFE response, and really wouldn't like to miss an interview notice! I read some posts and for those who don't get a response pretty quickly, a response/interview notice is likely to be on the way 3-4 months from RFE reply.

Last time I posted a similar question and got great answers about how to triple make sure the address is updated in the USCIS system. Now I am wondering about not having a continuous address for short period of time.

As an alternative, you could wait to file AR-11 until you sign the new lease in September. Meanwhile, you can instruct the PO to forward all your mail to your friend/relative or your work address. PO usually forwards for a year, but here you need it only for a month or so.

That's what I thought a while ago but after posting a question, some Vjers pointed out that USCIS correspondences have "do not forward" on them, and they are only forwarded when mailmen make a mistake...

Curiously, USCIS requires us to update address within 10 days of moving. I wonder what happens if they send something out during those 10 days. People who don't update within 10 days don't get a penalty, and USCIS will resend? Wondering..
