Does anybody know why there's such a huge delay? I've been waiting almost 9 months now and I called them about 3 weeks ago and all I got was "we're behind"... with no explanation. Any news?

Unfortunately, I-751s are "low priority". If you've been a LPR for 3 years minus 90 days and you are still married to your USC spouse, you have the option of filing your N-400. That'll eventually force USCIS to adjudicate your I-751.

Yeah, at 13 months you probably qualify to proceed on with an application for citizenship if you're interested in that.

Our 3rd anniversary is coming in October! I'll look into this thanks! :) I wonder what happens when my 1-year extension expires... Am I supposed to contact them to get another extension or? I'm kinda worried, I work and I need some sort of a work permit

It's already less than 90 days till any part of October. That means you qualify to apply for naturalization under the 3-year rule now.

You can go into the USCIS office and get an I-551 stamp. You don't have to wait until the 1 year expires; you can do it if it's close to the 1 year.

Is 02/18/2014 the "Residence since" date on the GC? You need 3 years minus 90 days from the "Residence since" date on the GC. That's the earliest date you can file your N-400. So that would be sometime in November 2016.

Yes it is! Well, that's some awesome news! I really appreciate you checking that for me, thank you!

And thank you for explaining that whole extension thing. I apologize if it looks as if I was just lazy and didn't want to look up the info myself. I've been busy (I know how lame that sounds but my job makes me work tons of OT) and just didn't have time to do any research. Now the closer it gets to the 1 year I'll definitely make sure to have everything ready on time and schedule an appointment at the USCIS office to get my I-551 stamp.

thank you again

We are in the same boat. We are getting the stamp in my husband passport next week. We got an RFE and it took me so long to get everything together so we sent it off just before that deadline ended in June. So for us, we did contribute some to the delay but I hope something happens soon. We will probably file for citizenship after we get the stamp and get the money together for it. I'm 100% positive moving right before we had to file for ROC contributed to this since most of the RFE requests proof since we moved basically to show we moved together and we are not separated. If we had to do it over again, I would never move before ROC.

I'm planning on giving them a call again.. Who should I speak to, is there a specific person I should ask to be transferred to? I think if there is I should have done it the first time, instead of just talking to someone from their customer service
