Delaying the interview scheduling?

Greetings VJ!

Quick question... and it may be a bit silly but then again; maybe not.

Our K1 was just sent from the NVC to the USEM. I found the link provided to many people with a detailed write up. Check. We're gearing up here and I think we have everything on lock. There's just one slight issue.

We were honestly expecting to see this thing hit the USEM in late September. So I was planning to set up some leave time in late September so I could be there with my lady for the interview.

Now that we have this NVC case # and we know that it's headed (or already there) for the USEM... do we have to hop on the hot foot and get things knocked out quick, fast, and in a hurry? Or can we take our time and schedule her interview/medical for the time-frame we first envisioned?

She's only waiting on one document (CENOMAR). Everything else is in hand. We even have the DS160 questions pre-staged.

If we do it quick, fast, and in a hurry... I may not be able to be there. That's kinda disappointing.

Thoughts?

Oh. Thanks again VJ! The information provided has been on POINT!

PSA (Philippine Statistics Authority) releases CENOMAR 5days after application.

Since you got the MNL # already, I would recommend to pay BPI fees, start filling up DS-160 and gather all necessary documents.

Check https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx to see if Status is "Ready".

After it is ready, you can already schedule the interview. It should be I guess. Mine did took just a couple of days from "In Transit" to "Ready"

My apologies. I forgot to pose my question didn't I?

Would it be harmful to schedule the interview out to late September? Knowing that the case is already at USEM (or almost anyway).

I really want to be there and I will more than likely have to wait until that time-frame before I can hop a flight over to the PI.

Your NOA2 shows the dates of when your approval is valid. Normally 4 months. Your timelines shows NOA2 date as 2016-06-21, which should make ur NOA2 valid until 2016-10-21. That is beyond the late September date you are looking for.

Yes you can schedule your interview for late September. Just pay your visa fee and get your receipt, so you are ready to grab a September date when September calendar opens. Remember USEM requires that the NBI and the CENOMAR is not older than 6 months at time of interview. You have one full year to complete your visa interview not four months. Don't do your medical until you are within 5-6 days of your interview.

That will not be a problem. You can schedule her interview on your schedule of visit to PH. As mentioned in one of the comments, your NOA 2 has 4 months validity; but US Embassy Manila can extend that (or automatically extends for another 4 months).

I personally did this on our application due to my work commitments. We were approved in Sept 2, 2015 and our NOA 2 is valid until Jan 1, 2016. We had our medical in Dec 22-23 and interview in January 11, 2016. POE is June 1, 2016. You can schedule how you wanted to do the application when is most convenient to you or based on your preference.

I personally emailed and call though the US Embassy Manila to make sure that I will not have problems given that I scheduled my interview past my NOA 2 expiration date.

I have my blogs on my signature with the process we went through.
