Many of your questions can be answered by the VJ members. We have a lot of experience in immigration issues. And a few of us have legal backgrounds. Ask away - It's free!

i'm wondering if i need a lawyer or a tax accountant or realtor. i have a few questions that i need right answers. but if anyone can give me a piece of advice,i would appreciate it. here are my questions:

- my mom gonna transfer an amount of money to me as a gift. ( >$100,000). do I have to be taxed anything once the money comes to my account bank in usa?

- when my mom becomes a permanent resident, she gonna transfer money to my sister ( she lives in Australia) as a gift again. all transactions will be done in Viet Nam because My mom still has a lot of assets in VN. Will she be taxed as a permanent resident? because she is the one who offer my sister money.

sorry for these questions. they may not be related to immigrant questions.

thanks.
