Hi all,

My wife filed the 1-130 for me when she was still a resident and now she has become a citizen and sent the documents so now I have received the NVC letter and case number. I am in England and she is currently visiting me in England and therefore has now job at the moment, she is a student.

I received the letter with the 6 steps.

Step 1: Choose an agent: DONE - MYSELF CHOSEN

Step 2: Pay fees online for both application processes DONE

Step 3: Submit visa application - PENDING

Step 4,5,6: Collect financial & supporting documents - ISSUE WITH THIS IS THAT SHE IS NOT WORKING, ANYBODY ANY IDEAS ON ANYWAY AROUND THIS? HER FAMILY MEMBERS ARE NOT CITIZENS YET, SHE IS THE FIRST SO I PRESUME THEY CANNOT SPONSOR ME?

Basically I am worried as she has no income at the moment so I don't know what to do for the next stage of this? Can somebody from England who is working sponsor me?

Any help from this or anybody who has been in a similar situation please assist?

Many thanks,

Alex

Any citizen or resident of the US can sponsor you, as long as they are currently living and filing taxes in the US.

Anyone living outside the US can not sponsor.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Thank you very much for your responses. Another question I have is I have somebody who is offering me a job but doesn't want to be the sponsor as such and required. If I am guaranteed a job on arrival would that count as a second sponsor?

hi

nope, the person has to guarantee with his or her taxes, he or she has to make enough over the poverty guidelines

it's not about you, it's about having someone covering for you to the government in case you used means tested benefits

if not with income, it has to be assets
