I would add one more item that I didn't go over with you. Maybe this will help you to understand the process.

You submitted your I129f and it was approved. You get your NOA2 with your MNL # which allows you schedule your appointment and medical and complete your DS160. When you get your passport then schedule your interview. When you know your interview date then 5 to 7 business days prior to your interview complete the medical. Now this is important for you to understand. The validity of your visa is the medical date not the visa issuance date. The visa will be placed in your passport and when you get it there will be a date printed that WILL BE THE DATE you need to be on US soil by.

Stop cluttering your mind with your orginal concern because it's invalid just as long as you keep things moving along.

This is such a simple process. I tell people that at times we are our own worst enemy.

It's very informative. It's just that one site says one thing and another site says something different XD it all gets so confusing! So he won't need to send a letter to extend it then?

Not yet, I'm going to try asking travel agencies to see if they could get me an appointment earlier

Did you applied for the passport? If you havent, i wont recommend the agencies. Because it will take you a longer time to process it. You can get your passport in 10days from DFA Cebu if you expedite it. I renew my passport last November and it took me less than an hour to do so (walk-in/no appointment). Agencies have their schedules thats why it will take you a longer time if you process it with them.

If you need someone to accompany you here in DFA Cebu, I can accompany you. Except around (Aug 17 to 25) since I will be in Manila to process my medical exam/interview.

Thanks, but I've already applied. And I did use an agency. I have the appointment on Aug. 15. Cebu is just way too far for me

Thats cool! there is an expedite process i think. Did you avail for it? You can inquire from the agency.
