Dear VJ Members,

I have some questions regarding preparing my Packet 3.

QUESTION 1: My fiancé and I are living together outside the US at the moment, so I'm not in particularly want to rush / speed up the USCIS to NVC information / documents transfer process. We received our NOA2 by E-Mail almost 3 weeks ago and assuming the normal waiting period, we will receive a notice from NVC within 1-2 months after NOA2 and we shouldn't be worry about it, am I correct? (P.S. My Fiancé's sister in the U.S., whose address we nominated for our mailing address in our I-129F pack, still have yet to receive any mail / our NOA2 from USCIS).

QUESTION 2: At this stage I don't feel the need to call NVC, but should I want to call and "speed up" the process, how should I contact them from outside the US??

QUESTION 3: Regarding the "Letter of Intent to Marry"; one from Beneficiary and one from Petitioner, can we just sent the same letter as submitted in our I-129F Petition Pack but with updated signing date? OR is there a recommended template for this letter specifically for the Packet 3?

QUESTION 4: My fiancé (the USC Petitioner) is retired and haven't had any income in approximately 7 years. How to best answer Question #7 in I-134 Form bellow:

7. I am employed as or engaged in the business of with _________ (Type of Business) with __________ (Name of Concern) at ________(Street Number and Name (City) (State) (Zip Code)

Please advise.

MANY THANKS.

J/G.

1) Correct

2) By phone, same as from the US

3) Same phrasing, new date and signature. Only the one from the petitioner is required.

4) Just indicate unemployed/retired on the first line. I assume you will have a joint sponsor?

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Some people get the NVC letter in the mail I've heard of many cases where some don't at all or even get it after the interview- as you may have heard NVC is super backed up.

You can call the NVC from outside the US thAts fine, if your not in a rush you can shoot them an email asknvc@state.gov and they will get back to you telling you they received it or not with the case number. You need to include the USCIS repciet number on subject line and body of email. In body of email ask them if they received your petition and if you can get your case number- you need to include the petitioner and beneficiary name and date of birth and your USCIS repceit number.

Like the previous poster stated- you can have the same phrasing, just new date and signature.

State your unemployed and have your sponsor fill out the I-134.
